Dolph Lundgren talks about food

I miss the 80's

Life was so much simpler with spandex.

Bro science that was working for Dolph. Just seems like nutrition advice is ever evolving and really doesn't change anything. Guys will always be ripped no matter what they eat.

Lol, I didn't know Dolph had an 80s fitness video.

Broscience...I think not.

Unfortunately, degrees and title mean nothing when it comes to working knowledge of nutrition. Case in point, the head of the Biochemistry department at my school is one of the biggest brosephs I know. Curls, shrugs and shakes all day 'erryday.

While I do have the utmost respect for science degrees, unless those are biochem degrees, they may or may not actually have any relevance. A lot of times even very smart people who understand how something works may mistake a function in the body for something else.

That said, Drago certainly was on the cutting edge:

Nope. Genetics, weight lifting (and probably steroids) worked for him.

yeah i know i was just pulling peoples chain...funny enough i used to manage a nutrition store near the ucsd medical center and literally had nobel prize winning medical doctors who's empiric knowledge of nutrition let alone working out was laughable.

More than anything i just wanted to point out how much of a bad ass Dolph is...

After graduating from high school with straight-A grades, in the late 1970s he spent some time in the United States on various academic scholarships, studying chemistry at Washington State University and Clemson University. Lundgren says that "my dad always told me that if I wanted to make something special with my life, I had to go to America."After serving his mandatory two years in the Swedish Marine Corps at the Amphibious Ranger School, he enrolled at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering.

Amidst his years of studying, Lundgren honed his karate skills by training hard in the dojo for five years, eventually attaining the rank of 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin in 1978. He captained the Swedish Kyokushin karate team, and was a formidable challenger at the 1979 World Open Tournament (arranged by the Kyokushin Karate Organization) when he was only a green belt. He won the European championships in 1980 and 1981, and a heavyweight tournament in Australia in 1982. In 1982, Lundgren graduated with a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney, finishing with the highest results in his class. During his time in Sydney, he earned a living as a bouncer in a nightclub at the infamous King's Cross. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983. However, while preparing for the move to Boston, he was spotted in the nightclub he worked at in Sydney and was hired by Grace Jones as a bodyguard. He fell in love with Jones and their relationship developed dramatically, moving with her to New York City.

Weird. He sounds fucking amazing. What an inspirational life. My cousin worked with him on an indie movie he directed over a ear ago. He said dolph was a jerk. I was kind of guessing he was a washed up ex steroid actor type. After reading all this though I doubt that's the case. Perhaps he was just having a bad day. Or maybe he is a ****y guy. I'll have to press my cousin for more info

What movie was it? Also, how exactly was he a jerk?

Just so you know, Dolph only used steroids for 2 years (after Rocky IV).

He was actually the most built when he made Showdown in Little Tokyo, and he was supposedly off steroids for at least a few years at that point.
