I've never had a cat that fit the negative stereotypes. They've all been super lovable, loyal, will come to you when called, friendly to strangers, etc.; and because I and my family have had several sets of cat siblings since childhood (a few born in my or my parents' house as their mothers escaped due to other people not being aware of their surroundings) I've had many cats.
I've only had one problem dog and he was unfortunately corrupted by a slacker owner (unfortunately my own grandmother) that spoiled him before I inherited him.

Animals always seem to trust and like me, so maybe some pet behavior is a reflection on the person interacting with them. Cats seem to be able to read people better than dogs who can be more blindly trusting.

There is this hatred or anti-cat attitude among some dog people that is a little odd to me. I think lot of it is learned behavior from other cat-haters or an off experience with one cat or another.
Or maybe because Cats insist upon owning their own consent and dogs let you decide for them? I'm just spitballing here lol

I think most cats are so gentle and playful, even the aggressive ones can have a nice side. They probably have been abused or the people just don’t respect their boundaries.
