My wife hates the cat brush she's always poking her fingers when cleaning it. Our kitten was found in my neighbors yard trying to get into their chicken coop. Cat's mom disappeared a short time after we grabbed her. Wife wanted to feed the mom and the other kittens but to much other wildlife. I don't let my cats out. I always worry about cars and other animals.

You and I are cut from the same cloth. I don't let ours out either. The drivers here are abysmal and we have a Coyote problem.

I had six cats growing up.

Benson disappeared, Mr T disappeared, Charlie and Sally were hit by cars, Sophie was euthanised and only Barney survived until old age, where he died at 23 of kidney failure.

It's why I probably won't own another cat. Love them, but even in the UK, mortality rate is high.

There is this hatred or anti-cat attitude among some dog people that is a little odd to me. I think lot of it is learned behavior from other cat-haters or an off experience with one cat or another.
Or maybe because Cats insist upon owning their own consent and dogs let you decide for them? I'm just spitballing here lol

I think most cats are so gentle and playful, even the aggressive ones can have a nice side. They probably have been abused or the people just don’t respect their boundaries.
