Does UFC have enough PPV “draws” for 12 $65 PPVs in 2019?

My man Frankie. I thought they were cutting back to 6 PPVs a year?

They were supposed to cut back to about 8-9
That was the plan since they bought it
No idea why the ESPN deal changed it
Makes very little sense unless they got a much better deal from the PPV providers or there is something else we don't know.
As I said earlier in another thread.
Whether I agree (or not), I can figure out a business reason for most of their moves ... not this one though.

I'd try to sign more celebrities. Like 50 cent. They are bound to draw. Lol. Maybe get Brock Lesnar back. They're currently working on it. Imagine Brock and CM Punk sharing a locker room again. What is ryback doing these days? Sign the rock or John Cena while you're at it. Huge draws.

Bottom line is UFC should drop the PPV price to $50, keep pay per view lineups for top 10 fighters only, co main events as number one contender fights or championship fights and the main events as UFC title fights. Keep the broads fighting on the prelims unless its a title fight, keep the fighters ranked outside of the top 10 for prelim fights and free fight night events. This does not mean that top 10 ranked fighters can not fight on free cards, just keep the pay per view cards so that everyone knows what to expect, top 10 fighters competing against each other.

I think if the UFC changed to this sort of format or something similar it would ensure more interest by placing the more meaningful fights and fighters in the spotlight so that fans will know what to expect out of a PPV event. There has to be a major difference between a PPV fight card and the average fight night event if you expect people to be willing to pay for one and not the other yet watch both.

I think there could be lots done to plan the PPV and Fight night events better and make them both more appealing to increase interest and views.

nope, the fertittas conned WME

but seriously, I don't know. maybe have woodley and MM making sub 100k numbers for the rest of the year? buy USADA to bring back jones? offer a gazillion of dollars to bring back mcgregor? also an insane amount of money to bring back brock? GSP?

Maybe not in 2019 but I'm assuming they will use ESPN as a vehicle to create a couple new ppv draws going forward

Who are gonna be headlining/co-headlining these PPV events?

Amanda Nunes?

Mighty Mouse?

Tyron Woodley?

Nicco Montano?

Will PPVs selling less than 100K start becoming the norm ala Nunes vs Rocky?
They have cash cow cyborg

Damn, first they lose Ronda then Conor now Cyborg

Well thought out, great post.

They should bump fight pass to $19.99 Including Ppv

Colby will be the top draw. He’s making welterweight great again so he will definitely defend the belt 2-3 times in 2019. That’s 2-3 PPV headliners with 500k+ buys.

nope. UFC is now finding out what boxing and wwe found out. ppv eventually dies.

fertittas conned wme, then wme conned espn.

Last card Woodley main evented did 300k. Not amazing by any stretch, but on par with every card DC and Jon Jones has had recently not involving each other.

If history is any guide as soon as he wins the title he will simply call somebody out for a super fight. Even if he beats Woodley in the unification he would then call somebody out and sit around for one year or more waiting for it to happen.
