With UFC 200 coming up here in a few months, I just get the feeling that the supposed biggest card of the year is going to be hugely underwhelming. Now I could be wrong and they could have something up there sleeve, it's just the feeling I'm getting.

Now the question is, do you think that they need the Mcgregor/Diaz rematch for it to be as big of an event as the UFC wants? Regardless of I you feel the fight shouldn't be happening at the time.

Nope.

You can put Conor/Aldo 2 on it or Conor/Edgar and it would sell just fine. Those fights also make significantly more sense.

People think it's solely happening because of money reasons, but what happens if Conor loses again? What the fuck happens to his stock? Is it really worth risking just because Conor is butthurt that he got slapped around and submitted at 170 when he's the 145 champion?

Holding the division hostage for that rematch is utterly retarded.

It could be fun.
I would prefer non-rematch fights, as much as they could avoid it, though.

yes

mcgregor/diaz is such a great fucking fight -- I don't get why you people don't see that.

While I agree with you that Mcgregor/Aldo 2 and Mcgregor/Edgar would both sell, I think the rematch with Diaz would sell more. But that's just my opinion.

It's what is best for the UFC!! If Mcgregor went and defended his title and lost then they wouldn't be able to do that rematch. Their rematch would do better than McGregor vs Edgar/Aldo. If he wins then that only sells his fight more at 145. Timing is money. Not what probably should be the right fight. The UFC is trying to maximize profit. A loss at featherweight would break the McGregor money wagon. This is the right fight for the UFC to make. He can always go defend that belt. You can't say that you wouldn't wanna watch that fight again. McGregor fan or not it's much more entertaining than anything else.

Exactly the point I was making :D

No, I think UFC 200 would be just as big with the fight that logically should be made, McGregor vs Edgar for the FW title. I do not believe that this fight would draw any less than a rematch with Nate would. imo

Yes. We all wanna see McGregor ko Edgar but it just wont do better than a rematch with Diaz. If Conor had won he still wouldn't be fighting Edgar. Get over it people. Edgar needs to beat Aldo for it to be deserving for me. Otherwise I'd rather see an Aldo McGregor rematch before Frankie gets the shot

Put Aldo vs Edgar 2 on the main card, and the winner afterwards can step back in the cage after the main event and say "I am not impressed by your perforMANCE" to the winner of Conor vs Diaz. (Since both Aldo and Edgar lack the trash talking skills as the guy that said that line).

Because we've already seen the damn fight, no point in an idiotic rematch. If Conor was truly as great as he and his fans think he is he would have won the first time.

I think it would too, but is it really worth the risk if Conor loses again?

I don't even think it would sell that drastically more than Conor/Aldo 2 though. Certainly not enough to take the risk of Conor losing again.

Edgar has no personality he doesnt bring anything to the table, nate sells more. With conor on a card it will do well no matter what but nate does add something.

Hell no. But if it does happen it will be SO SWEET watching Conor get crushed again.
