Does this watch look good with a suit?

I made a thread a while ago about buying a new watch for about 500 $.

I have narrowed down my search. I now, don't really care about whether or not it is a mechanical/quartz ... and actually think a quartz may suit me better as they are more accurate and less maintenance.

I want a watch that is smarter than my digital G-shock that I wear now, I love my G-Shock, but it's more of a sporty kind of watch, and I'm looking for something that is a bit of a step up in formality. I also own a brown leather dress watch, with a white face, which is good for formal evenings (I could also buy a new strap in black to make it more formal).

What do you guys think of this watch? Does it go with a suit?

I abandoned the idea of a silver bracelet as it didn't really suit my style when I tried them on. I also want something a little more discreet and subdued, nothing too snooty or posh, but nice and has high quality.

I love the face on this watch and the hands, but I think the trimming on the band lowers the formality of it and may make it more casual.

I'm also thinking of getting this watch:

Which I think would look better with a suit, but may be a bit too dressy, something I wouldn't be able to wear casually.

To all the watch people on here. Thoughts?

Hamilton's are solid.

Those you posted also look good with a t shirt and jeans, IMO.

also, I'm a teacher, so I dont want anything too flashy or posh. I'm not holding meetings with millionaires, so in b4 "ger a rolex"

If you plan on wearing it with a suit, I'd do a Jazzmaster. Khaki field for everything else. Hamilton makes subs too btw.

The field look to me is utilitarian, not something I'd wear with a suit or tux. Seiko also has similar watches at similar pricepoints. I'm thinking Seiko Cocktail Time, Seiko SARB033, or maybe look at Orient Star.

Good advice.

I mean, I'm going to be wearing it with a suit, but also when the weather heats up, with just a shirt and tie. I'm teaching in a classroom, so it doesn't have to be too dressy. I want it to reflect my style and environment.

Get a rolex

Just something to keep in mind...Had some bad smells with my leather Hamilton band in humid weather (never took it off). Particularly after a 2 week trip to Colombia when I went to Quindio which is very humid. You may want to invest in a 2nd watch band or treat the band with snoseal or something. Or you can just buy both watches. That's what I'd do anyways.

True.

I'm going to be working in an air-contained building, so I don't think I'll be sweating a lot.

I have had a leather band get all bitty and broken on me before, as I didn't look after it.

Even if I don't wear it with a suit, I think the Hamilton khaki (pictured) complements a lot of my wardrobe, so it might be worth buying it on that alone. It's a nice looking watch.

I may have to get both ...

I agree with you.

I think the khaki would go well with a sports jacked/slacks/brogued shoes/argyle socks kind of combo, but in terms of wearing a smart suit and tie, business formal type outfit, the jazzmasters are probably the way to go.

Eh whatever you wear you are still a weirdo.

Like putting makeup on a pig.

Damn, may have to go full retard and buy both ... my credit card company are gonna love me!

Might buy one, this month and then the other later on in the year.

The Seiko Sarb 33, looks great. But, I tried on a few models with a silver bracelet and it doesn't really go well with my skin tone (I'm really white), I think leather/alligator straps look much better on my wrists. I wonder if the Seiko Sarbs come with leather straps?

I tried on an Orient star, as shown, but with an ivory face and brown leather strap, it looks amazing, really suits my skin tone and looks dapper ... I might have to get that.

The thing with buying leather straps, is that some people think that you should match leathers on an outfit (i.e. black leather watch with belt/shoes and brown leather watch with brown belt/shoes). A silver bracelet is much more versatile in this sense, but it just doesn't look good with my white, pasty arms.

I don't wear suits, but if I did, two of my watches would look great with them. The Qlocktwo W by Biegert & Funk, and the Xeric Halograph.
