To be fair I get a little sad-ish when I watch older movies. I don't mean old like Rambo, I mean old like The Wizard of Oz.

My favorite movie of all time is Casablanca and I'm fairly certain that everyone that acted in the film is dead.

I don't know why but it hits me in the feels.

Sad isn't the word for how I feel but there is a bit of disappointment knowing that >99.9% of humanity is well forgotten within a few years of their death. It's almost like they never existed if you don't count their offspring. Their life, their stories, their passions, all gone just like that.

I'm not saying we should worship the dead or that we should spend our lives pursuing something that gets us remembered but it is humbling.

Yeah no doubt about Mickey and Colonel. They are like THEE supporting actors of my youth.
