Media Does this end the fighter pay talk for you?

His point is pretty legit, go do it yourself and create the competition. While the UFC is the highest paid promotion by a distance in MMA as a business they have little reason too pay more.

It is clear from published numbers that UFC pay is increasing which is a good thing. Honestly nothing but competition paying more will change things. As a whole I think most UFC fighters are happy with pay and the ones speaking out are generally at the top of the card. I mean everyone wants more pay, but at the end of the day UFC seems to be able to make any fight it wants (unlike boxing).

His point about "go do it yourself" is fucking dumb beyond belief and not even close to being legitimate. It's just like people derping out at fans, who criticize fighters, by saying, "Why don't you step in the cage?" Sorry Dana, not all of us have wealthy friends with deep ties to Vegas to call up and bankroll a new fight promotion. The man has said a whole host of stupid things over the years but this is near the top for sure.

But, I was actually surprised by this interview and thought Dana came off mostly well. He brought actual numbers for once and destroyed De La Hoya in a humorous fashion.

Is this the face of a liar?

Fighter pay has never been an issue for anyone until they are standing on a platform Dana built for them
How come the Fertitas don't get 80% of Dana's current earnings since they made him? Why don't Griffin and Bonnar get 80% of TUF earnings because they made the show big? Hell, why not give them 80% of all current UFC revenue because the TUF 1 finale is credited by Dana himself to be a large factor in the UFC's current success?

"I'm not as shitty as the other guy" isn't really a great argument.
You pay the most in a field where the pay is generally shitty, but you have the power to pay more, and you are taking an unfair share of the pie while the fighters are putting their health on the line, and you think you should be praised for this?

He makes some good points I hadnt considered. Seems like they have way too many expenses though, and are spending a shit load of money on stuff like these super gyms etc that I cant really imagine helping guys who are already on the roster and already have gyms/coaches.

What Ill never understand is all the big wig elites whove bought shares in the UFC. For what purpose other than they want to roleplay as roman emperors or some shit, watching over peasants bleeding for their entertainment.

why the fuck does elon musks weird ass need to own part of the company? One that barely makes any profit at that. probably collects the blood off the canvas and drinks it with his witch wife

Only if your a moron . Talking about how Oscar fucks over his fighters has nothing to do with the fact the UFC allocates 16-20% of revenue(ya know what was revealed in the lawsuit) to fighters and when Dana White was asked about that by a reporter(after those pathetic soft ball questions from that Mac Life cuck) around the 10 minute mark he ducked the question and came up with excuses.
Boom, shitty-thread ender right here

Fertitas funded it yes, and they made out handsomely. But who was there bringing ideas (like tuf), answering the critics, and running the show all this time? Forrest Griffin still has a job and you can thank Dana for that.

I disagree it is so dumb. There is venture capital, other people with deep finances are competing with UFC. The names he dropped for doing it yourself clearly would have the capacity to do it. In fact you could argue Bellator has better backing than UFC.

There is certainly a lot of risk involved which would stop people, but at the end of the day this is the same for starting any business.

I wish fighters had their own sponsors again that help with them getting more money it sucked when UFC made that Reebok deal all those years ago.

Do people really care about fighter pay when they are sitting at home 45 Saturday nights a year watching UFC?

His point isn't legit and I haven't heard his point. Anything less than a 50-50 revenue share is not legit. The major leagues would still pay far more than the minor leagues even if they only paid 16% of the revenue.

Of course it's better, but they do not deserve credit for paying 16% of the revenue in salaries.

Agreed. It's obvious that the UFC is run by evil cunts.

McDonald's workers not speaking out makes you think they are happy making $8.50-9.00/h?

"No-name" UFC fighters not speaking out could not have to do with the fact that they have a vindictive and abusive boss?

Do people really care about fighter pay when they are sitting at home 45 Saturday nights a year watching UFC?
Are you seriously making the claim that that people's caring is somehow related to what they do on Saturday nights?

The UFC is what it is because of Dana

Had Dana and the UFC not existed fighters would be making even less . there's a reason why most choose the UFC with other options out there
No you pathetic nuthugger, the Fertittas are the only reason this corrupt criminal organization still exists.

Where was all of this public outcry when the UFC was 40 million in debt?

Why? Because he bashed Oscar about fighter pay to make himself look better. Meanwhile telling people it’s none of our fucking business what he pays fighters.
