Does the UFC want a champion who likely can't fight in the US?

Yeah, A US, Canadian, European or Australian challenger should not always have to go to the Middle East to fight for the belt. Champs from those countries go all over to defend their belt. Topuria just defended his belt in UAE, Makhachev has defended his belt in Australia, Du Plessis just defended his belt in Australia as well.
khamzat is big enough to defend where he wants... he can headline Abu dubai, UK event, Saudi Arabia and Australia (hes litrally going Australia in December has meet and greet) thats 4 fights in a year... he doesnt need to be in America at all... plus he's the next big muslim superstar like Khabib who was only fighting in Abu dhabi so Khamzat only fighitng in Abu dhabi and Saudi Arabia will not be a problem for UFC and thats 2 fights a year, which is average for a UFC title holder.

Not to mention, if any fight goes to a close decision in those moose limb countries, its a lock for Hazmat.

I don't think they care. They're well on their way towards moving all their PPV's to Abu Dhabi and holding all the Fight Night cards at the Apex.

In other countries he wouldn’t get the extra hour to weigh in or the magical Abu Dhabi scales
If he gets the strap he’s going to need all the help he can get to make Championship weight

Ufc goes to middle east at least twice a year in calendar year. He wasnt fighting more than that even if he had zero visa issues.

The above is speculation as well. Chimaev has ONLY been scheduled for fights in the MIddle East since '22 and Dana White is a widely known liar.

Here's chimaev in July '24 saying he doesn't have any problems getting a visa, but then says he hasn't applied for one, and the UFC told him to "wait and fight in Arab countries for now." If that's not suspicious, then he should give you a brown, unmarked package with wires coming out of it at the US Southern border so you can take it in to the US, no questions asked.

Apparently the UFC doesn't think so. Read what I posted above.
