Due to the smaller gloves and the ability to mix things up to set up the big shots?

Yes, the gloves are fitted perfectly to your knuckles making it easier to connect flush on the sweet spot.

well, kimbo slice is a 7-0 pro boxer, so i'm going to say no.

It depends...if you are a multiple BJJ world champ or a 3 time gold medal wrestler it does
Tank abbot wouldn't get too far in the mens division these days though

Punching power alone gets you nowhere in either sports.

It's probably more important in boxing, because you throw far more and are far more likely to land at some point.

Yes and no though.

I mean they've got bigger gloves so defense is quite a bit easier than with MMA gloves.

Then there's the fact that you have more defensive options in boxing which simply wouldn't fly in MMA.

Overall, I'd say MMA punching power is better because 1 hit knockdown power (even if you don't get an immediate knockout) can set you up better. No standing 8 count.

Good point with the count. It makes it easier to come back from a lucky punch, which is impossible in MMA if followed upon correctly.
