Does Gastelum deserve title shot or should he fight Weidman first?

No rematch. Weidmans out for now. Give Kelvin the next shot
 
First response covered it if Weidmens still out have Kelvin fight if he comes back rematch
 
Kelvin. It may be weird, but the Kelvin now is not the same Kelvin that lost to Weidman. Weidman shouldn’t go up the rankings just because Kelvin is getting the wins. The Kelvin Weidman beat isn’t the Kelvin that beat Bisping and Jacare if any of that makes sense. Especially with Weidman being inactive
 
He should fight Weidman first. Both need one more big win to validate a title shot as off now, in my opinion, and what better way than to do it in another fight against each other?
 
Gastelum should... Keep the division fresh. Weidman should fight Jacare... and poor guy. Just can't win that contenders match... even by split.

give kelvin the title shot in a fresh matchup. let weidman get another W under his belt after being out over a year. there are a number of guys weidman could fight at the end of this year- branch (one of the few top ten MWs coming off a W), jacare (matchup that has to happen before end of their careers), or whittaker should he lose at 225 (less likely)

I'd be fun with one more fight. If Jacare would have have got the sd I think if feel the same way. Basically moving up off of a draw
 
Too soon for a rematch. Kelvin can get a shot by default considering how weak the division has suddenly become but he didn't look very impressive last night and doesn't really deserve it under ordinary circumstances. Also, Weidman will be out for a while so no sense holding up the division for him. He is heading into Cain Velasquez level inury territory
 
Jacare was able to take down and control Kelvin after predicting his shots repeatedly. I don't see this fight going any different and it doesn't make sense to make again. I say just give Kelvin the shot and have Weidman fight someone else.
 
I say give it to Kelvin. He is the more interesting/entertaining fight and it's Kelvin's only loss at MW and Weidman's only win in years. If they fight each other then that leaves nobody to fight for the belt.

It doesn't make sense, it wasn't that long ago and Kelvin looked just as sharp when he blasted Vitor as he did Bisping. Weidman is just the least declined guy Kelvin has fought and he has better takedowns than Jacare.
 
He doesn't necessarily "deserve" it, but he should be next, no one really else...poor Jacare (get a new S&C coach).
 
Weidman is out, so assuming the winner of Whittaker/Romero comes out of that fight with no injuries and they want to stay active, it should happen if Kelvin wants to fight and stay active too. If Weidman didn't become so injury prone recently, I think that rematch would already be happening.

If you disagree, who else is there that makes sense?

Weidman needs to actually beat some guys before he even starts asking about a TS.
