Dude has made good money, about to make even more money, has been in wars. If he loses, it seems doubtful he'd get a rematch in the event Conor eventually regains the title. Thoughts?

Nah he has plenty of time left. Could take a break from title contention for a bit and just have fun gatekeeper matches or go fight Nate Diaz at 170.

He moves up to 170, he's a big guy....

I don’t think so he’s theoretically in the middle of his prime. Even with a loss he’s still a top 5 fighter and 2-3 wins away from a title shot.

He's 31 years old and could continue making ~$1mil per year for the next 5 or so years fighting 3 times/year. Highly unlikely he'd retire now, unless he had a serious injury that prevented him from fighting.

If Conor gets the belt back Dustin would be in line for the inevitable interim title fight when Conor doesn’t defend. With the IC eventually becoming the full LW champion when Conor is stripped.

Why the hell would Dustin retire knowing all of that?

Why? he can still earn money and unless he gets submitted by Conor there would be nothing to be that embarrassed about.

He's a fighter, with no other career interest. And he can keep the donations going for his fundraising. He'll fight until someone tells him it's time to quit.

Nah, he'll be emotional at the presser like he was against Khabib " I'll talk to my team, and we'll be back stronger " type of speech, he'll be back if he lose.

But if he lose badly, I want to see Tony vs Poirier next, that fight can't be anything less than spectacular.

Nah, even with a loss, he's still a Connor McGregor-hiatus/retirement away from another title shot.

I dont believe he will, but i do see time off. Maybe a change of some sort

He’s been an underground fighter like Jorge and donates a lot to his charity so he will most definitely be around until his mid 30’s as a minimum. He’s a good guy so I hope the UFC gives him the DC/Bisping treatment, or he can become a MMA coach at ATT
