Of course not. He didn't really even deserve the title shot he had coming to him. It was based on Conor's mystique and aura of being unstoppable which has been extinguished.

He'll need to either go back to 145 and clean out the division or go to 155 and earn it the old fashioned way.

That is what makes things interesting, the natural fight now is a rematch with Aldo at 145lbs but can he make it with no IV?

They could perhaps have Conor drop the belt and rematch Aldo at LW instead or maybe a 150lbs catchweight. No belt wouldn't really matter in terms of the draw and Edgar could still get his title shot soon vs someone else for the vacant belt.
