Because he approaches all of his fights like he's a guy with the reach and range advantage (in other words, he thinks he can fight like Conor).

When you have t-rex arms, you must take the fight to the inside to narrow and nullify any type of reach advantage your opponent has (especially when you have awful defense and bad timing). And if you happen to find yourself on the outside, you need to keep your hands up (gloves or no gloves, you need to protect yourself) and continue to move laterally around your opponent until you find another opportunity to get in on the inside.

It's like this guy hasn't learned a damn thing from the shitload of losses and beatings he has taken. Wasn't the mantra at SBG gym "You win or you learn"? Cause quite frankly, Artem doesn't seem to be doing either and the "win" he got tonight was a survival victory.

I agree he needs to get on the inside, and let off some hooks and uppercuts. A guy with short reach has more devastating uppercuts and hooks then a long reach guy. Artem could really put all his weight into a nice hook with his trex arms. Hopefully he gets a good boxing trainer. He needs to do a single collar clinch aswell and fire off that right

He's tall for his division. 5'9". That may lead him to fight "long". But he has a 5'6" reach. Maybe he does think he really is a normal 5'9" fighter who typically has a 6' reach
