Does anyone remember JDS vs Velasquez I?

Apparently Cain fought with a torn ACL in that fight.

Yea they were said both of them had issues but couldn't postpone it because it was the first UFC ON FOX so they went on ahead with it like that and the rest is history.

Dana didn't like it because it was only 64 seconds and was going on about Cain's game-plan and other shit but he was happy that no major blood or to much gore for the casuals.

Cain fans disappointed, JDS fans were in full party mode.

Remember when JDS KO'd Cain Velasquez in 1 minute? JDS won by KO in this fight but in the next two fights Cain proved he is the better fighter.
Why are Conor fans acting like Aldo doesn't deserve a rematch? Knocking someone out in 13 seconds is great but then avoiding the rematch? It seems that Mcgregor fans do not want Aldo to have a chance to prove he is the better fighter. I think Mcgregor is aware that Aldo is the biggest threat out there and doesn't want to fight Aldo again because there is a great chance he will lose
McGregor knows Aldo is a tough fight. He has nothing to loose with the other fights but everything to loose in the FW division.

Aldo does deserve a rematch and can still prove he's a better fighter but you can't erase history. What Conor did was amazing and what Junior did was amazing
JDS didn't try to avoid the rematch though and Conor is avoiding it so I have a lot more respect for Cigano

I do. I bet $2000 on Cain Velasquez. $500 straight on Velasquez, and $1500 on Velasquez by knockout.

Fucking horrible night.

Some of the bets. Seemed like the easiest money ever, since it was clear the first fight was a fluke, and there was no way this was going to a decision.

Did you bet on their next fight double down on Cain and get that money back ? :D or just to mad on him for the poor performance ?

so salty.

Let jose enjoy retirement
Do you even like mma? All I see out of you is weak attempts to antagonise people... you should find better uses for your time if you're not really interested.

have you been stalking my posts? . I recommend you make better use of your time.

Rematches usually play out differently.

lol.

I remember Dana being shocked as fuck in the booth like "well, what the Hel was that? Guess that's it for the 1 fight card".

LOL how could I forget? An absolute disaster of a first FOX event for the UFC. A hugely hyped HW title fight and it's over in a minute, it was hilarious.

It was also great seeing Dana bash his new HW champion on live tv right after the fight

If Aldo weren't rage quitting, he'd probably get his rematch. If Conor loses to Alvarez it's back to FW or retirement.

But the difference between those situations is that Cain had a style that he didn't utilize in the first fight, but everyone had seen, that was a definite threat to JDS (as we saw in the next 2 fights). Aldo, as great as he is, doesn't initiate ground fighting very often and Conor has looked better standing the past few years than Aldo has.

I personally would love seeing the rematch, but not because JDS caught Cain.

there's lots of examples though. Liddell/Couture, Wand/Rampage, Hughes/GSP, Hendo/Bisping.

1 guy winning dominantly really doesn't mean anything if the other guy can make the adjustments.

i mostly remember dana looking like a deer in the headlights.

it was hilarious.

Of course we remember that fight.

Aldo isn't even close to being his biggest threat. McGregor is simply the better striker and Aldo won't try to take him down. Somebody who is a great takedown artist and has good striking poses much more problems for McGregor.
How can you be so sure he's the better striker after 13 seconds of fighting? It was even incredibly close to being a double KO. If Conor keeps avoiding this rematch there will always be an asterisk on his record

Yeah thats when UFC was more popular and got 6 million views for that event, scraping to get 2 million these days on Fox events
