Does anyone else miss Mike Goldberg?

I do, but I also believe he was a product of his time and wouldn't work well in this ESPN era
That's more of a diss to the current commentary tables because I'm really not a fan of the trio commentators on the broadcast

He said dumb shit, however he was funny and kept a good energy during that period. I also felt he made Rogan act a bit more professional since he was the guy who didn't train and Rogan had to pull the weight of all the MMA analysis stuff
Rogan now just goes with the flow and is way too fucking bias

All the time. Cormier is dumber than Goldberg ever was, and far more susceptible to parroting whatever Dana wants him to say ahead of time. Goldy was too caught up in his own excitement for the sport to be that easily controlled.

No, but I do miss the old forum layout..
It's like all the new stuff lately. You'll get used to it because they're just gonna shove it down your throat with no alternative, and they dgaf that you hate it!

Pretty cool huh

not in the slightest. he was like nails on a chalkboard for me. only thing worse was mauro.

Felder struggles with language.

Especially his own.

Yes. He kind of acted like and said what a lot of semi new mma fans were thinking. He was an Everyman.

The best thing about Goldie was his unwaivering confidence in mma terms combined with his absolute s*** knowledge of MMA

"OMG Nick "St Pierre" cerrone just landed a flying gogoplata reverse darce chokehold on chael rockhold! !!!!

The guy had no f****** clue on who or what he was watching but was drunk or drugged up enough to fake it till he made it

Like I've literally had a cocaine problem for a decade and I still don't know how the hell he gets that f***** up to not know what he's talking about. He has reached levels most drug addicts can't even imagine reaching

I was watching some old fights recently and it occurred to me just how much I miss Mike Goldberg calling the fights.

Yeah he made A lot of technical mistakes and didn't have a deep understanding of fighting, but what he lacked in those areas he made up for with pure enthusiasm. Watching Goldie call the big fights makes me aware of how lifeless and boring the current broadcast teams are. You can even sense Rogan is not the same without Goldie. Joe used to be like a giddy high school kid when Goldie was around, now he calls the fights like a lifeless corporate robot.

I don't care what anyone says, Goldie's voice is synonymous with the UFC's golden era, and many of those legendary moments would be worse off were it not for Goodies excitement and enthusiasm giving the PBP. Long live Goldie!

I only miss Quadros more

Yes. I don't care if he sometimes said nutty things.

Here we go!

Yes, Goldberg was a legit professional broadcaster that the UFC has not come close to replacing. It doesn't need to be Goldie specifically but the lack of a real professional broadcaster is what has led to this very annoying commentary we get today that feels more like listening to guys have a pissing match at the bar than high level professional sports broadcasting.

It is all over!
