like seriously the crowd shouldn't have boo'd cormier for his performance, he did what he had to do. and anderson silva is a dangerous striker. so if cormier stood a traded blows with silva he would've gotten knocked the fuck out. i'm guessing the majority of the people in that arena don't train, to me if daniel cormier was just getting takedowns and putting silva on the ground, thats not a boring performance, thats a good performance against silve who is a legend in the sport, its called strategy really. so does anyone else agree with the crowds reaction to the silva and cormier fight.

the people paid good money for those tickets and they can do whatever the fuck they want, it was a boring ass fight

Not really, but I rarely agree with those drunken idiots and their incessant booing.

On one hand it's "sports entertainment" when they're making phoney hype job fights and then we get fights like that where there's hardly any incentive for DC to make it exciting

Eh, the fight was kind of dull and there was a general angst around the event and that particular last minute change in general.

Cormier did exactly what I expected him to do, I thought it was a pretty decent performance against a guy who is still very dangerous even though he isn't as good as he once was. I think the main reason people booed is simply because they do not like Cormier, Brock came out and did almost the exact same gameplan against Hunt and was praised for it, it's all about appeal.

When you have the same dummy screaming, "WOOOOOO!" ala Rick Flair in every card with others following him, that pretty much shows the IQ of the average MMA fan in the crowd.

lol

i was rooting for dc. shitty fight i might have bood if i was there live too. it was awesome silva stepped in but im not gonna root for him over dc because of it

Hell no. At the end of the day this is MMA. Not kickboxing or boxing. Plus Vegas has the worst crowds, spoiled and late arriving. I lived in Vegas for over a year. Great city, love it as a town, but terrible fight fans.

I think they we're booing the away team, cheering for their guy.

In that sense, I don't hate it.

I was torn between being grateful to DC for taking the fight and pissed that he made it such a boring affair. I'd still rather have seen that boring fight than to have no DC on the card at all. Shrug. It is what it is...

I like to "WOOOO!" at public sporting events. Not as much as I enjoy booing--all parties--and mercilessly heckling the ref, but "wooo's" can be fun too.

public speaking events are even better.

they were booing that DC the larger inshape dude was able to take Silva down at will and keep him there but was not able to score any significant damage to him despite having him there 12minutes ((unofficially)) it was a terrible performane IMO from pretty much both of them with Silva almost content to lay under DC and make next to no attempt to get up....the fight went pretty much exactly like I thought it would when they announced it but I thought DC would have done more than just effectively hold him down
but cant fault Silva...guy flew in to watch the fights and walked away with at least 600k for a very lackluster effort even with the conditioning/lack of camp/not far removed from surgery aspects taken into account

Nope, didn't agree with it at all, it was pathetic. Its not Cormiers fault that Silva after all this time can't stop even 1 takedown. Cormier did fantastic.

What bothers me most if these posters trying to tell you these guys did nothing.

Who can survive under DC like that and avoid getting his so well? What Anderson did was damn impressive. He didn't get hurt because he worked his ass off for it.

Sure this fight wasn't a wild offense fire works show, but it was two very good fighters searching for seconds of success.

They were going to boo him no matter what. He was getting boo'd in the pressers over a guy on PEDs and coke who almost killed people in his car twice.

It looked like Silva was willing to flop to his back instead of being tossed to his back, to me.

Salty Jones fans. Two guys fighting a safe last minute replacement fight. They were frustrated. I wouldn't boo. But if you pay your dollar you get to holler.

I don't, but not because it was what Cormier needed to do to win or anything. I genuinely thought it was an entertaining fight, not one of the greatest fights ever or anything, not even one of the best in the card but a good fight nonetheless.

I've seen way worse fights, whether it was a LnP bore or an abysmal striking exchange. Cormier was active, mostly with shots you could call "pitter patter", but active. Anderson had great defense on the ground too, and managed to negate most of Cormier's transition attempts and ground strikes.
