Does Anyone actually root for Greg Hardy?

I don't have anything against him. I think it's pretty cool what he's done crossing over from the NFL without a history of martial arts training and getting a bunch of W's in the UFC. And he's acted very humbly along the way (I know there is the domestic abuse allegation in the past but nobody on here knows what actually happened and we can only judge people on what we see). If he continues to work hard and improve he could still end up being a ranked HW, let's not forget he beat the shit out of Tybura in the stand up in round 1. His cardio is a major issue for sure and he needs to correct that.

“I think I could be one of – if not the – the greatest fight sports heavyweight of all-time. Not even just MMA, just the greatest combat sports heavyweight,” he explained. “I’m versatile, you know?”

i would not call that humble.
dude claimed last year he could be the greatest combat hw with titles in mma and boxing..

Tybura walked Hardy down throughout the fight and showed zero respect for his vaunted power, a tactic that proved to be justified as Hardy was completely unable to faze him with anything despite landing clean several times in the first round.

I will never be a fan of a domestic abuser. The UFC should never have hired someone with that on their record.
At least he now knows how his ex girlfriend felt when he was beating her. He's a piece of shit that never should have been in the UFC.

Kind of a lame statement.
They have a much easier ability to be great fighters because they already posses huge edges with strength, speed and size. None of these are going to harm them getting into the sport of MMA.
Brock lesnar wasn’t the most technical guy and had his way with people who practiced mma for decades.

Yes but Brock at least spent his whole life wrestling and having that base added to his physical attributes is a perfect way to start MMA.

Since I’ve been a longtime inductee and a card carrying member of the highly secretive organization BALA (Brotherhood of A-Level Athletics), I do in fact feel compelled to wish him sustained success in MMA as the rules of membership clearly dictate that if you’re not in direct competition with fellow members, associates will support and encourage fellow A Level Athletes.

That being said I do not condone the past behavior of a Mr. Gregory McKarl Hardy who was found guilty of assault and communicating threats crimes against his ex-girlfriend. I also denounce acts of physical violence against women, specifically when a 300+ lb. man assaults a 125 lb. woman by grabbing her, throwing her into furniture, strangling her, and threatening to kill her, especially considering that these heinous acts were carried out because she was jawing back at him and dissed him in front of his boys.

How do you feel about child killers, Mr Benoit?

Does Greg Hardy have any fans? He got off on his domestic violence charges on a technicality and quite frankly he doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. If you are a fan of Hardy can you please explain what appeals to you about him?
I was rooting for him until he started gassing. Here are the facts and logic that obliged me to want him to win:

“The UFC has put so much into this guy, albeit for reasons I don’t understand; therefore, I hope he doesn’t lose.”

Plus, Hardy was willing to get in there with a top ten once, in Volkov.

But when he started gassing again, all that powerful logic crumbled and I said “Darn UFC, always trying to foist these ‘designated champs’ on me. I hope they all gas and get TKOd.”

If the UFC were consistent with talent and staff, that would be a very empty building.

Probably some wanna-be "Alpha" sherdoggers who use their deep-seated hate of women to gloss over the domestic dispute with pseudo-legal arguments or that "I don't really care what someone does outside of a cage (until Conor posts something alpha as fuck on instagram)" scapegoat.

Other than that, the best he'll get is a general apathy with just a base-level excitement at the prospect of his KO or be KO'ed approach, which is kinda standard for most heavyweights anyway.

id like to see him get beat up in the octagon, that's the only reason I pay him any mind

I was just because the hws in the ufc are painful to watch with how slow and unathletic they are. Hardy brings athleticism and excitement to the division but he just doesn't have a fighter's mentality

I don’t like Hardy. I can just tell that he’s evil. You can see it in his eyes. I also can’t stand Tybura’s fighting style. I was kind of hoping Hardy would beat Tybura out of the UFC and Hardy would then go on to get brain damage in his next fight. Hardy quitting was a bit funny though.
