I'm not saying that they are awful and I can get into them if I happen to catch one on TV or something, but it's just not something I gravitate towards anymore.

I was born in 1980 and collected comics up until I was about 12 or 13 and was nuts about the Micheal Keaton Batman Movie and have fond memories of watching re-runs of Lou Feriggno's Incredible Hulk series. I also was into The Maxx and Spawn in the 90's, but ever since my mid/late teens I never really get exited to see these movies anymore.

I'm not trying to knock anybody who loves these movies, but I just seem to be in the minority here. I've seen several of the newer Marvel and DC movies over the years and while they were entertaining they aren't movies I would pick to watch when scrolling through Netflix.

I think it's gotten out of hand, but people can watch whatever they want. At least they're better than Transformers and F&F.

I always post threads about shit I don't care about...

Movie wise, Marvel hit their stride and seems to be putting out super hero flicks at 7/10 - 10/10 quality, I can dig that. As long as this quality persists, they can expand their universe as much as they want and I will keep watching.

DC on the other hand...

Still into the MCU - Thor and etc, getting amped up for Infinity Wars - Marvel Studios got that shit on lock

Xmen Movies are good too if done right, but I feel them running out of steam hard

Fuck the DC comic movies, I wipe my ass with them

I think more and more people are getting annoyed that they exist. Many now scoff if asked what causes that annoyance. You're not alone TS.

I have a few to catch up on myself. Gonna make for a sweet weekend one day soon.

Well, we're in an age where the extravagance of comic book artwork can finally be replicated on the film medium with CGI, but there's definitely an overreliance on special effects—to the point where producers / directors / writers get lazy with the story & characters, and leading to a slew of spotfest films.

That being said, we do have to thank Marvel for popularizing the concept of a "cinematic universe." If planned out carefully and not rushed for the sake of making money (... DC), some of these can potentially be epic in the future.

And also, I think superhero films will always be a thing from now on (its own subgenre). It just attacks a wide enough audience to usually be commercially successful.

I'm not annoyed they exist, I actually like the idea of man movies being made out of pop culture from my childhood, but yeah I do get scoffed at when I tell people I've never seen the Dark Night. I have seen a couple of the X Men movies, Spiderman, The Avengers, Ironman, Captain America, and probably a few others that I'm forgetting.

I thought they were good, it's just that they aren't usually my first choice of things to watch. I'm not trying to sound like a hipster here, but I really liked the Hulk Movie with Jennifer Connelly and Edward Norton.

Good analyses!

For another subject they are planning game of thrones series on other events before the current show. Now that they have the audience captured in the got universe i hope they wont drop the ball

The Norton Hulk movie is far superior to the Bana Hulk movie. Dark Knight is hugely overrated and the Xmen are hit or miss. I do think the MCU is really putting out some good work. I also read them as a kid and think they've done a great job with the movies.

Just be careful you don't slip off the path and end up with the inexplicable folks that hate things they've never seen or have anything to do with. Stay casual.

I care enough about them to watch them occasionally. I don't care enough about them to make a thread about them.

I couldn't care less about super hero movies.

Lol... For sure. I'll always give things a chance before I judge them regardless if they are considered "cool" or cool to hate.

I remember reading that Bana took over the role, because Norton was such a cunt to work with when he had the role. That's a shame too, because Norton is a really good actor and is great in pretty much any role he takes on.

It was Ruffalo after Norton but I remember reading that same thing. I think Marvel has been a bit lucky that's really the only casting issue they've had with this slew of movies.

If Spiderman snapped necks and webbed chicks I'd watch. As long as he plays touch butt with the dorky villians then I pass.

That's right. I was thinking of the dude that played Bruce Banner in the Avengers.

I don't care for them at all. I never cared about comic books, though.

The closest I came to a comic book was watching the X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons in the 90's.

I liked this, I just want to quote it to tell you I liked this.
