Most fans who only leaned about UFC via TUF missed the pre-TUF good ol days.

TUF definitely reeled me in but I first saw the OG UFC's on VHS as a kid. I also looked back on as much UFC & Pride as I could find. One of the mechanics at the car dealer I worked at was a PRIDE fan back when we still had dial up as the best option.

While I can't stand the way you wrote your post I certainly liked the style matchups better. Fighters are clearly more well rounded by specialists can still thrive. For example Khabib on feet isn't very good but was still able to dominate, however I think it is more the exception to the rule now.

It generally feels you are either a wrestler who wants to get it to the get ground or a striker who wants to keep it on the feet and they are the two main prototypes.
