We all know that TUF has been dead in the water for a long time now. With the recent merger and access to better media production from the TKO merger, do you think they will attempt a new version of TUF or something similar? I've always had a soft spot for TUF and have watched every season and rewatched some seasons multiple times. I'd love for it to be reworked and continue in some form. But something needs to change for it to work nowadays.

TUF is a product of a bygone era. Most real fans skip all the bullshit in between and just watch the fights. I am not sure how they could fix that unless they did a TUF with actual current MMA stars or a co-ed TUF with people fucking and what not. Or maybe go full Survivor or Amazing Race with it, or maybe TUF + Ink Master where the other team picks a tattoo for the loser.

Should've been cancelled and never brought back 20 seasons ago.

The problem with TUF, is the Contender series, and whatever that other show is, is oversaturating the UFC product with talent that aren't good enough.

Well the problem with TUF is Contender Series is a vastly superior show with more fights and less drivel.

Didn't WWE cancel their version years ago? Tough Enough?

I feel like they was needing to have to take the same approach they been did with #PowerSlap (srs).

Get combatant in there on the show but make it more about social media viewing. #IndoctrinateYouth through social media by occupy on Kyle's feed for x% of the scrolling activities (and thus trigger #SocialMediaExplosion and then Disney+ bundle subscriber become recipient of #Cardone10x buff which help show (and therefore combatant participant on show) make #BigBucks before they was even get to #UFC . Just like esteemed #BasketBallCelebrity Shaq.)

Make it #Drama , show #GreatKnockout and maybe funny video. But no "My life was so sad #boohoohoo". Maybe you was just been weak, bro

Anywhat, here is a proof that this is the way. Is good yeesss?

Maybe. I guess they make money off of it or else they wouldn't do it.

The whole reality show house thing is oversaturated and has ran its course. I think a show much more focused on training, nutrition, etc without the immature drama would be refreshing and welcomed. Have some top trainers working with hungry young inexperienced fighters. At least you won’t feel dumber having watched it.

I don't really understand your post.

Are you saying they should basically do a TUF version involving celebrities? They get in because they're popular on the socials rather than just being good fighters?

Reversed. Show will make them into social media celebrities on unparalleled levels. Once WWE fan boy grow into man and want more violence, the TUF will be there to open its loving arms and #Convert them to the path of the #JustBangGods and UFC PPV through social media bombardment with show clips

I hope not. It's pointless now that there's the CS. There's nothing wrong with moving on from it.

Well they'll have pick one thing and go for it ..

Either TUF or CS ... Both running is kinda redundant and weird for fans to follow ...like whos ranked higher coming into the UFC... the TUF house winner or the CS winner? Are they the same? ...

It doesn't make sense...

A TUF season with current champions and a good set of guys that have real talent top ranked amateurs or minor league champion/past champions ...or the polar opposite guys with no experience get a chance of a lifetime and get to train with MMA star studied camps and fight to get into the UFC would be much better then CS with randys no1 knows and are hardly vetted competing for a PPV spot debut...

I would prefer TUF to CS but i also starting watching UFC and MMA right before that era so it was kinda special to see that take place and what it did for the sport..

If the biggest draw in UFC history could pull 100K views for this show, then no TUF is dead for all I’m concerned by TUF Chuck vs Tito the show was heavily declining and the last good winner of tuf was Kamaru Usman and that 8 years ago, when the latest winner of tuf became the first two time winner it tells me that TUF is dead

I guess I'm in the minority, but I've always loved TUF, even the most recent season, especially because of the tournament format. You have to be a legit beast to win multiple fights in a matter of weeks, and the talent that has come out of TUF is a testament to that...

The problem for me was that the coaches' rivalries and all that house drama would make the series look fake as fuck.

They should do a new style of fighter show
Maybe a cooking show or UFC Bachelor

Cancel TUF - Double up on Contender Series (2 seasons/year).

I have a soft spot for TUF too, but it needs to decide if it is a fight series with some "get to know the fighter" or a reality series with a fight at the end. TUF was most successful when it was a reality series. The guys are just too professional now and there is no legit drama so literally everything in manufactured for the cameras which results in boring viewing.

IMO there are few ways to revive TUF IMO
1. better fighters, make it between current UFC fighters with the winner getting a title shot (or gives winners of DWCS a spot in the house as the reward)
2. more challenges. Every episode should have some so sort of competition between the teams for advantages or whatever. Basically what the coaches do once a series, every ep between the fighters. Rewards could be things like training session with a UFC champ or whatever.
3. less focus on the fighters family. They all have some sob story and it results in them all feeling basically the same and pointless. In other reality shows people get to know the contestants by activities/challenges and not by calls home to family.
4. let Forrest run the show and just have Dana as a viewer on fight days. I really like Forrest and think he could be good for the cameras if given a longer leash. There is too much Dana in UFC product now and I think Forrest would give a fresh host that still bleeds UFC.
5. If using fighters from outside the UFC then make every fight valuable. 50K winner takes all for every fight min. Have the briefcase of cash beside the octagon.

Every beef, fake beef or drama was better than the current TUF:
A) Fighter talks about his family
B) Fight
C) Repeat

So boring, I couldn't give less shits about 16 strange families

I think that is really the biggest problem. They are trying to profile the fighters but they are doing it in the least interesting way. Sports stars in other sports nobody gives a shit about your family unless your girlfriend is taylor swift. They have to find better ways to profile fighters.
