Do you think MVP regrets throwing that pokeball?

Cause he should. I mean I know he anticipated winning and wanted to chime in on the whole Pokemon craze ... but damn son, that skull injury.

I mean it was obvious when the fight was stopped that Cyborg was grievously injured but he still rolled a fucking pokemon ball at him.

He shouldn't have. And with the pics of Cyborg's skull that come out ... I fell like he probably regrets doing that now.

How was he supposed to know Cyborg was that badly injured?

He's linked Cyborg's GoFundMe on his twitter page and sent his best wishes to him and his family, so yeh he probably regrets it in hindsight.

Probably feels like a bit of a douche, but that's what happens when you're desperate to build your brand. He's done something similar before, with the "what are those" comment after beating someone.

I wonder what Cyborg thinks about it.

His antics aren't half as bad as Tito's grave digging or flipping his opponents off. I'm sure he regrets it a little but it's given him so much attention it'll probably work out for him in the long run. Shame about Cyborg but it's part of the game.

That's what TS is probably asking for
Maybe he should also visit him like soccer players use to do when they broke some guy's leg

They still do that. Also, a lot of MMA fighters visit their opponents in hospital too. I'd be surprised if MVP didn't visit him in hospital at some point. His condition's just a little more serious than a broken leg atm though.

MVP did a smart thing by doing the pokeball roll. That clip went viral online and he got a ton of attention, even before the injury was revealed.

In hindsight it makes him look like even more of an asshole, but how could he have known how bad that was? He usually wins by KO and his opponents are usually (relatively) alright soon after. I'm sure he had no idea he ended Cyborg's career at that point, so he did something that he knew would draw attention and make his name carry more weight. In a world where Conor McGregor is the biggest draw in the sport, it's not a bad idea.

Still, that fucking sucks that Cyborg suffered that injury. I can't even believe how hard that knee was.

I don't want to go look for it, since that's a gruesome injury and I'm at work, but Cyborg posted a picture of him smiling and looking cheerful, so it looks like he's in a pretty good mood all things considered. Made me feel a lot better about the whole thing, but it still really sucks and if MVP is any kind of quality human being, he'll go see Cyborg at some point before he leaves. Cyborg isn't medically cleared to fly, so he'll probably be in the UK for a while.

Yeh, it looks like he's stable, thankfully. I'm sure he's on a lot of painkillers and has ups and downs so soon after an injury like that. Once it's confirmed that the swelling in his brain is under control, I think a lot of British fighters will go and visit him (including MVP). He's fought here a lot over the years and always puts on a good show.

disrespectful no matter what

Did the Pokemon ball caused the injury? I'm pretty sure it's the fighting that Cyborg signed for that caused it. Post fight celebration might look like a douche move but that comes with the territory. I'm sure if somehow Cyborg managed to submit MVP, he'd be flexing his muscles or do something as celebration.

He probably does looking at things now. At the time he had no idea his opponent had a fractured skull. He shouldn't be overly criticized for his celebration.

People on here take this stuff way too seriously. It's part of the show.

You're like the bat flip police in baseball.

It would be different if he rolled it at him in the hospital and filmed it for his twitter or whatever.

The Pokemon roll will bring more eyes to the event which in return may increase his GoFundMe account total.

haha this actually makes sense, the pokemon celebration has been picked up by the mainstream, i saw it on espns frontpage, deadspin, etc...so it got a lot more attention than it normally would have

So if Barbie makes an astonishing comeback he will throw a Barbie at the next guy he beats?

whos Barbie? not sure what you're trying to say in response here. I'm saying the unintended consequence of that celebration is that cyborg could get more funding for his gofundme because there is more attention

That's a good thing but the act itself was still wacky lol

Horrible horrible horrible analogy. The Pokemon ball throw makes sense. You beat a Pokemon in battle and then capture it with a poke ball or whatever.

He beat cyborg in battle and threw the ball like he was a defeated Pokemon.

Doesn't matter how popular Barbie is, she has nothing to do with fighting.

I should have said Dragon Balls
