Do you think machida won?

Simple question

I do not.
He outstruck Anders but Anders had octagon control and did the most damage with added a few takedowns

Depends on which rules they even went by old? new?
I think it could have gone either way, Im fine with the decision. No robbery.

only people giving machida any rounds are those actively trying to give him rounds, they live vicariously through machida.

This basically. I had it 48-47 Anders. He for sure won rounds 3 & 4 and slightly took 2nd. 5th could have went either way but you could sway for Machida because he landed more punches. In a rematch I think Machida wakes up looking at the lights. Every time Anders touched his chin, Machida went flying back or was wobbled. Should have kept it inside kicking distance and kept pressing. Anders was letting up way more than he had too. He gave Machida to much respect.

I can't stand runners, being a strict counter fighter is bad enough already. I hope this can make Anders improve

48-47 Machida (1,2,5) I wouldn't claim a robbery either way. Close fight.

Machida beat Anders like Jouban beat Perry but less convincingly, he won on points

I actually scored it for Machida but Rd 2 was the wildcard. Even Anders corner said he had 2 rounds after 4. But it was close - I did give Machida Rd 5

Two moments from this fight that prove Machida's regression to me.

1. After Anders went down in the first round Machida seemed to just fall on him instead of landing a potentially KO strike ala Thiago Silva

2. Later in the fight, when Anders through a fail mary and was off balance, Machida did NOT counter. He stood there. Prime Machida would have turned Anders lights out.

His reflexes have clearly regressed. Glad he got the win but I really hope he just fights other older guys in the division and maybe some untested prospects moving forward.

I think if you sign to fight in Brazil against another confirmed Brazilian cheat this is what your up against with the judges

god i hate that theres still idiots out there that yell out " boring " when its machida.... its not boring man , thats how machida fights. the fact he paid too much attention to idiots calling him boring and ended up attacking more is part of the reason he started losing more. I wish he would have just stuck to his way of fighting all along. IF you dont like it or you cant beat it then too fucking bad. Just like when a wrestler takes a guy down and the guy cant keep him off him, too fucking bad man. Get your ass up fight your way out of it otherwise get better or do something else. Fuck

Yea I'm not saying it was a robbery in any way. I just felt it was a even fight but anders was busier and did a bit more damage.

underrated post

I thought he won. Just because Anders moved forward doesn't automatically won. Machida landed more which is what a fight is about. Anders didn't get anywhere with his takedowns so they weren't worth much.

My overall impression is that Anders won 3 or 4 rounds, so I was expecting to hear a score of 49-46 or 48-47, Anders. However, the rounds were close, so I'm not gonna complain or scream, "roberry!".

He won. Don't get so caught up at Anders swinging heavily at air and doing nothing with a couple TDs. If that knee doesn't cut Machida then this isn't even a topic of discussion

Maybe, I don't really care tbh... I do think he should retire though, he looked old and slow.

I actually lost track of the rounds because I fell half asleep midway through the fight. Therefore, I award the win to Machida because in the Chinese calendar it's the year of the dragon or so I'm told.

They both lost.

They should start handing out double L’s.

id have to rewatch it, but live, i felt machida clearly won rounds 1 and 5, while i gave the opponent 3 n 4. 2,3,4 were difficult to score, but particularly 2.
