Would love to see him get KTFO but nah I doubt he has the balls to crossover
Lovato's style was much better suited for MMA imoPeople always say this, but look at how Lovato was doing in MMA
Gordon would be that x10
How so?Lovato's style was much better suited for MMA imo
He's not getting Brock money, especially not from the beginning. He may have a similar look, albeit smaller and lighter. But no BJJ specialists have gotten the immediate attention that Brock did. Ryan would have to be another well known pro wrestler or actor or something for that. Even Hardy (a well known NFL star, not a bench warmer like Schaub and Mitrione) didn't get that much attention. Of course Brock also performed a lot better in MMA than Hardy, as D1 wrestling was a lot better base than football. What weight class would he fight in? Could he make Light heavyweight?
If he does , I hope he demands some Brock Lesner money.
.
That can be said of every style at this point.Jacare and Maia kind of hit a wall in MMA. I think the sport can handle top grapplers moreso than the top wrestlers/strikers. BJJ will always have its own place in MMA, but also there is a "oh shit moment" if Ngannou stuffs Ryan's takedowns and just brutally KO's him. Ryan would have to have a passion for striking or wrestling to be able to compete in MMA. If he doesn't like either then he can't be at the top. High level BJJ isn't as useful anymore unless paired with another style.
Completely irrelevant.Cheers
(PS: Danaher never competed, yet trains the best grappler alive today on how to compete.)
How much money does he make in that? I had no idea there was any money in bjj.
Not much, even ADCC only pays 10k to win I believe. He makes tons of money through instructionals though. He is wealthy.
He made Josh Barnett look like a white belt at Quintet a few years ago.Nope, but he would be the scariest grappler in MMA, no one would fuck with him on the ground. He just subbed freak athlete Nicky Rod in like 2 minutes without breaking a sweat. He breaks down outstanding grapplers down with ease it’s kinda freaky. He’d need to really hone his striking and change to Costa’s clean juice but he’d sub anyone on the ground in a minute.
The point is a few years later his physical transformation would have made any grappling match between him and Nathan Orchard laughable. That didn't look like a strength or size problem to me, but rather a combo of a tough opponent and and Gordon having not near the technique he has now. Think about this: He was 21 here. He's 27 now.
He started BJJ when he was 15 and still in school. Now he has no obligations except to train and has been training twice as long in years now, and also a ton more hours put into the last 6 years.
........and slaps are not the hardest offense in MMA
Jacare never hit a wall unless the wall was the top. He was effectively as good as the champion(s), just never held the UFC belt similar to Yoel Romero.Jacare and Maia kind of hit a wall in MMA.
