Would love to see him get KTFO but nah I doubt he has the balls to crossover

What weight class would he fight in? Could he make Light heavyweight?

I would not go in there against the heavyweights if I were him. He will get his clock rocked.. To risky. There is a reason no one holds onto the belts for long and they only fight 1 or two times a year. Those dudes hit way to fucking hard.

He seems to have his career going on the right track. He does seminars, Coaches. Does guest appearances at schools and colleges. Does stuff for the kids. Is on podcasts. Does some bjj tourneys. He has a book out. Unless he hits rock bottom, I don't see coming over to mma to get punched in the head by hillbillies for peanuts. Fuck that. If he does , I hope he demands some Brock Lesner money.

Honestly I have no idea? If he does come over to MMA is he a crazy bastard and power to him. If not then I don't blame him.

No. He will only ruin is legacy, like MMA guys doing boxing. He will not repliace his success.

He has God given talent at grappling, my guess is he would shit himself getting punched in the mouth and likely has a glass jaw

He would get destroyed in mma and he is also juiced to the gills

He's not getting Brock money, especially not from the beginning. He may have a similar look, albeit smaller and lighter. But no BJJ specialists have gotten the immediate attention that Brock did. Ryan would have to be another well known pro wrestler or actor or something for that. Even Hardy (a well known NFL star, not a bench warmer like Schaub and Mitrione) didn't get that much attention. Of course Brock also performed a lot better in MMA than Hardy, as D1 wrestling was a lot better base than football.

He will never pass a drug test in his life…. I don’t think he will ever fight mma

Jacare and Maia kind of hit a wall in MMA. I think the sport can handle top grapplers moreso than the top wrestlers/strikers. BJJ will always have its own place in MMA, but also there is a "oh shit moment" if Ngannou stuffs Ryan's takedowns and just brutally KO's him. Ryan would have to have a passion for striking or wrestling to be able to compete in MMA. If he doesn't like either then he can't be at the top. High level BJJ isn't as useful anymore unless paired with another style.

That can be said of every style at this point.

Having bjj as high lvl as he does would allow him a lot more freedom in the striking department as well.

Look at the worlds least athletic man, Ryan hall come out on top in many striking exchanges.

Put that guy in a pure striking match and it wouldn't even be competitive, but with the threat of his ground game all of a sudden he's got guys on their back foot.

ITT: a bunch of crybabies crying over steroids.

Does Gordon Ryan juice? Probably. Funny thing is, his grappling style doesn’t rely on bjuiced strangth

Not much, even ADCC only pays 10k to win I believe. He makes tons of money through instructionals though. He is wealthy.

That was what I thought and why bjj end up in MMA even thought they are more interested in BJJ.

Nope, but he would be the scariest grappler in MMA, no one would fuck with him on the ground. He just subbed freak athlete Nicky Rod in like 2 minutes without breaking a sweat. He breaks down outstanding grapplers down with ease it’s kinda freaky. He’d need to really hone his striking and change to Costa’s clean juice but he’d sub anyone on the ground in a minute.
He made Josh Barnett look like a white belt at Quintet a few years ago.

That didn't look like a strength or size problem to me, but rather a combo of a tough opponent and and Gordon having not near the technique he has now. Think about this: He was 21 here. He's 27 now.
He started BJJ when he was 15 and still in school. Now he has no obligations except to train and has been training twice as long in years now, and also a ton more hours put into the last 6 years.
The point is a few years later his physical transformation would have made any grappling match between him and Nathan Orchard laughable.

Jacare never hit a wall unless the wall was the top. He was effectively as good as the champion(s), just never held the UFC belt similar to Yoel Romero.

Jacare is easily a top ten MW of all time - there are MW champs and contenders who are not that.

Ricardo Arona reminds me of another BJJ guy who was effectively as good as the champion but never held the belt predominately due to booking.

Completely irrelevant.
Enjoy your two day old account. I'm sure it's going to last.

Actually it's very relevant. You just choose to ignore it since it doesn't fit your narrative.

I'll last longer than a 2008 account with 3,409 posts. Hint: There's a reason for my username, and no I was never banned.
