Nate definitely missed a golden opportunity to demand an instant rematch from Conor and make those tears that were building up fall down his face. It's nice that nate is respectful as a martial artist, but as a businessman he whiffed here.

If Conor loses at featherweight, a rematch with nate will hardly be a money fight. Conor's career could very well tailspin and if nate took this opportunity to really get under Conor's skin, he could force him into a rematch before his stock plummets.

Do you guys think nate should have put Conor in a tough spot and guaranteed himself another huge payday?

Why? Conor just gave him a massive payday. He beat Conor decisively, there's no need to rub it in after that.

Maybe.
Wonder what DW's contingency plan is if Nate actually wins ?
Wait a second.....

Nate is gonna get a lot of money for whatever fight he does next. His value has increased with this win, and you can't expect him to fight for 40k/40k again.

Nate's disclosed salary for this fight was already released $500k

This is actually really smart. I didn't think of it, but it was definitely the move to make. I bet they never even thought of it either. The immediate rematch at lightweight would sell great.

I meant, he fought for 40k against Michael Johnson. Although he fought Conor this time on short notice, they can't make him go back to 40k, that's what I meant. He's gonna bring in another fat check again, regardless of who he fights next. His stock went up a lot!

No, he and Conor seem very friendly.

You wouldn't shit on your friend would you?

No, he was the better man and he took the higher road.

Conor had far more respect for Nate than anyone else he fought in the UFC. He actually laughed out loud several times when they were talking shit. Conor knows the diaz brothers are as real as it gets in MMA and even said so after the fight. I dont think it was the right move to act like a dick. When you beat a man, it speaks for itself. Only insecure people keep reminding people of it

There is still plenty of time for Nate to get what he really wants.

Does he want RDA? They can't give that fight to Conor.

Does Conor want to fight Nate again? Making 145 seems very difficult for Conor. He looks scary at weigh ins for 145. Frankie Edgar looks like it's just another Friday night. Not a good choice for Conor.

Conor isn't going to get to pick his fights anymore.

It's Nate's turn to pick.

Nate already signed a new contract before this fight.

It was 500K show/500K win for the Conor fight, and a 4 fight 250K show/no win incentive deal.

Nate isn't a slimey little bitch like most of you fuck faces...

Naw, the Diaz bros are so popular because they say what they feel and keep it authentic, they've never been the type to talk shit after the fight is done, would have felt forced for Nate to start now.

I'd shit on a fighter who I have nothing to do with and tried to shit on me to build his name further.

Nate should have been ruthless and demanded an immediate rematch at LW. If nate was really running this in threatening to retire Conor it will sell.

If nate loses to RDA and Conor loses to Frankie, nate will have left tons of money on the table.

Not really forced when this guy shit on your teammates and tried to clown you preflight for his own benefit. Time to return the favor, with all the leverage, and make another 7 figures.

What you said about being a true martial artist vs guaranteeing a bigger payday says so much.

The UFCs recent WWF-ish marketing is disgusting. Diaz may be a bad example because he's a shit talker but he's not a hype/showman like Conor was trying to be.

No. He should not have made a concious decision to hype anything. Win or lose. Be yourself whether it's Diaz or Rich Franklin or Tito or Cotoure....be REAL not phony. Then go home.

I love it! I hope you enjoyed the look on his face when he realized he had no leverage and will have to cut back down to 145.

Did you tear up at the same time Conor did?
