This. And Frankie Edgar is a former champion and worthy of headlining cards himself. It's really the best fight to make at 145.

Right now, I can't think of a better fight in MMA.

I fear frankie is the Dark-Horse and they want to hold that off as long as possible. But a rematch with Aldo is no safe bet either. A repeat of that 13 sec KO is unlikely.

I personally dont think so, a fight card like this needs a huge fight and established level champs/great fighters. Nothing against Conor, he has incredible ability to draw numbers and generate interest but he hasnt even defended his belt once, beat two top fighters and just lost. He should without a doubt be on this card as a co main if the fight is Edgar, but in this case it should be a Jones vs ?, GSP vs Lawler, Anderson vs GSP that kind of fight. And I say the same thing if it would be Aldo vs Conor.

Talking more about Aldo vs Conor, this is a huge fight no question and equal to say a Jones vs Rumble, probably even bigger. But why I dont see it as a main event for 200 is that we've already seen this fight a few months ago and ended early, not to mention it was heavily promoted first half of last year and the fight was called off, so I think something new and fresh makes more sense.

That is how I see it.

i dont know if it is anymore - conors hype was based on ridiculous confidence and recent invincibility (old losses were old etc.), making fans go absolutely wild - not sure how this will all play out - his fan base here has largely disappeared as expected but maybe there will be a comeback with a good win or two

Not even close, shouldn't be the co-main either. Frankie is not a draw and Conor's numbers are completely gone now. His PPV success was 100% based on his undefeatable aura and people believing what he was saying. That day is done and so are his numbers.

Frankie/Conor could absolutely be on that card. SHOULD be. Even though Conor's draw will lessen it will still be one of the top in the sport and Frankie deserves the recognition of a big card. Unfortunately, i think Conor will choose Aldo because he sees him as an easier fight (which is crazy to say about someone like Aldo)
