Do you think Brock should've hired a better striking coach/sparring partner than Pat Barry?

Brock will still crush hunt on the ground, but he should have got a better striking coach/sparring partner than Barry. Hunt has Ray Sefo. For example Brock should have hired Badr Hari.

he needs to spar with someone close to his size otherwise he wont learn as much
When u no longer have a big reach or height adv on someone u HAVE to rely on technique

I don't think Pat Barry is a bad striking coach, I think Brock's biggest problem when it comes to training is the no hitting policy. He's never going to get used to taking punches in a fight if they don't ever simulate a fight.

but you fight differently depending on the advantages you have on your opponents. he should be working on leveraging his reach advantage.

i wonder how many times Brock KO'd Barry in training?

He should have hired Joe Rogan to have THE TALK with him.Only way he doesn't get KTFO by Mark Hunt...

We all know Brock shoulda been with Ernesto hoost yrs ago

Against Mark Hunt no one will help him on the stand up...He should just focus to take the beast down...

Big guy myself here man i van tell u 100% for sure u learn the most vs guys ur own size..the extra reach and power checks u when ur getting sloppy

It seems like more and more I hear about fighters completely eliminating sparring and any kind of fight simulation. Most of them are older fighters trying to extend their career longevity. Brock isn't a young guy and this is probably his last fight. I would rather him focus on avoiding getting hit than learning how to take a beating at this stage in the game. But I'm a Brock fan, so maybe I'm just biased.

At least Brock's confidence will be up. He's probably already KOed Pat a dozen times.

As for striking coach he should be just fine, but he needs different sparring partners, Barry isnt very tall or doesnt have long reach himself.

i understand. i'm generally longer than guys i spar. and yeah, you fight different without a reach advantage. but he has to leverage his advantages. and make sure he uses those tools. you don't lean on those tools as much when it's not an advantage.

he isn't going to become a dynamic striker. he has to use his advantages. his reach is a big one, and he needs to focus on using that to at least keep the right distance and be a threat. and a nuisance.

I get that with older fighters or fighters that don't panic when they get rocked but Brock panics when he gets hit hard. Maybe he can do some of that spinning training that Cro Cop and Fedor used to do to simulate being rocked and having to recover.

IMO, Brock should be training with Ibarra or Roach.
But they wouldn't put up with the fact that Brock is a man who is told what to do by exactly no one.

This is complete BS he's been banging all camp we have had some of the most epic wars. People think he's been sitting on the couch for the past 5 years lol they have no idea that he's been working on every aspect of his stand up. The BEAST will be back transformed you will be eating your words bro! You have no clue!

Do you have any proof of this? I am going on old info but last time Brock was in the UFC he had a no hitting the head policy, Pat Barry admitted it.
