Law Do you support Zohan Mamdani's call for ban of AR15s?

Couple things

Doesn't matter if he supports the ban.. there's already millions of them in hands of private citizens and they're aren't going anywhere.. laws or not

Secondly, long guns are used in less than 10 percent of homicides in the US annually. But hey bro, if it feels good to ban the "scary looking guns" go for it.

1. Are you American?

2. You dont "need to" own anything other than food water & in some cases shelter. The whole point to freedom is that it goes beyond somebody else defining or limiting you to what they feel you "need." Of course you have to have boundaries at your freedoms not imposing on the freedom of others.

3. My post above gave specific verifiable examples of rampant crime waves in urban, suburban, & rural areas were car theft rings on a nightly basis come to your home with ARs & AKs & under most legal definitions put your life & your familes life in jeopardy. You can google the surveillance videos all day long online. Now imagine your kids wife or yourself may be on the way home. Or they may innocuously exit their residence. Or yourself...Or even a pet....Or a neighbor. So the "just let them take it logic" does not apply to many common situations.

These criminals are already convicted felons who:
A. Did not obtain the firearm legally in most cases
B. Its illegal for most felons to have firearms anyways
C. Stealing cars is also illegal in all states
D. Federal laws and charges for armed criminal enterprises that conspire in chop shop car theft rings.

How the fuck would making a fifth law that stops the innocent law abiding citizen from having equal protection work here when the criminals have already proven 4x that several laws and countless gun restrictions will not stop them from coming to your front door with deadly assault weapons. This isn't the movies. If 3 felons have assault high capacity weapons the average non trained pistol or knife having ass civilian would be better off hiding under the bed and praying they dont mow down your loved ones in seconds. Thats not what a lot of non cowardly men would want to rely on because some outsider not in their area that doesn't have the same things to protect feels he "doesn't need" equal or equivalent protection.

There are actually other words that come before that. I mean goddamn, the thing is only 27 words long, somehow some people thing only 4 of them matter.

I get it though, since the far right took over the NRA in the 1970s, they only have those last 4 words displayed on their window <lol>They want to do their best to obscure what all the words before that actually mean.

EDIT: in addition to those words, there’s historical context that illuminates further what they mean.

It isn't even close to the top cause of death if you remove suicides via gun from "gun violence". And most of the other cases of children dying of gun violence are gang activity in inner cities.

I honestly believe that the SCOTUS has adjudicated ad nauseum. If you aren't getting it i can suggest some reading material for you.
