Of course I don’t support a ban on AR style platforms, nor do I support ridiculous restrictions on ammo capacity like in CA, where you have to spend lots of money to buy smaller magazines than what the gun comes with. I would be fine with ammo capacity beyond what the gun comes with, not not to limit a gun to nine rounds(or whatever it is in commiefornia).
I also don’t support NYC and New York in general, on the restrictions that completely banned guns in nyc regardless of permits the gun owner possess (concealed carry vs open carry). I strongly disagreed with the “proper cause” laws that required a person to show that they were under active threats to be able to carry their guns. Number one, it took a miracle for the person to get their proper cause accepted, meaning the only people carrying guns were cops and criminals who don’t care about your fucking gun laws, and because of alvin bragg and other progressive DAs like larry krasner (Philly) and kim fox (Chicago), the punishment for an illegal firearm or felon with a firearm is laughabl, if even prosecuted. larry krasner even openly stated that he will not prosecute this crime because it is exclusively black and brown suspects and he refuses to put them in jail because “too many blacks are incarcerated already.” My brother is a New Yorker and he owns a few guns. When he goes to the range, he has to keep them in the trunk and unloaded and he attempted to get a concealed carry license many years ago and was denied. He told me only the wealthy and retired cops ever get their proper cause accepted.

And fucking lol at madman, I mean mamdani praising the deceased officer only because he was a minority. He never mourned other nypd officers killed in the line of duty and he hates cops and wants to defund them and restrict what neighborhoods get policed, meaning he would only wakt officers in minority communities when answering a call and they wouldn’t patrol the area.

I do understand another poster’s point that handguns might be a better place to focus attention, but SCOTUS has pretty much hamstrung any legislative body’s ability to do much with that.

They’ve fucked the 2A up so bad that they’ve hamstrung our ability to do much with any of it, but I think we should try where there’s at least a possibility of some kind of success.

There's a lot of things the democrats need a super majority to pass that I think would be good things for the country....but I'm leery of giving the democrats any kind of majority because I'm skeptical that they would actually go for things like healthcare and student debt and gun control would be their first target.

There needs to be curbs on gun purchases IMO. This doesn't mean "thur cummin' for my gunz!!!!", but gun enthusiasts let the scare tactics work. It doesn't help when retards like this guy float AR bans. I hate it when people that know nothing about guns propose these arbitrary bans that make no practical sense. I understand your point completely and it disheartens me that a single issue has taken your vote and elected a person like Trump.

All SCOTUS said is that handguns couldn't be banned. There's nothing stopping states and cities from further regulating them (like NYC already does).

You have to pay money and get permission from the NYPD just to own something like a bolt action rifle or pump shotgun in your home.
Handgun permit is $340, rifle/shotgun is $140. Plus the $90 for fingerprinting.

And unless you're rich and/or politically connected then good luck getting a carry permit (of course off duty and retired cops are exempt like always).
