There’s been some good womens fights but the vast majority of WMMA fights just aren’t very entertaining at all. That’s not to say that every mens fight is a barn burner or anything but I think it’s fair to say that overall mens MMA is just a much better product.

I don’t understand why it can’t be like every other sport where it’s a completely different entity. That way the people who do enjoy it can watch it while those who don’t aren’t basically forced to.

Or they just want to watch professional MMA. People don't want an amateur standard of sport qt the top level.
If you threw Dave the plumber in against John the accountant on a UFC card that also wouldn't be popular, and it would likely be a similar standard to women's MMA.
Just because they're equally bad so are competitive with each other doesn’t make it a good product. The outliers who would compete at semi pro level in men's MMA like Nunes and Cyborg just highlights how bad the other girls are.

A general rule of thumb that holds up across the board is that the best women in the world would be a good amateur, possibly a semi pro (think just beginning to get paid small sums) in the men's equivalent.
Nunes was good, might have even been able to be mid tier in a small organisation at bantamweight.
I'm sure they try their best, but their best isn't, and never will be, on a professional level.
 
I have zero interest in WMMA and do not watch it. I support female athletes and I'm happy there is an audience, but I have a limited amount of time to spend on hobbies like watching sports. I would prefer they split up WMMA and MMA cards so fans of both can choose to enjoy what they like.

When WMMA bouts are on, I take a snack/drink break. For 5 round fights (which you know will take all 5 rounds) it really breaks the fun and rhythm of a fight card for me since I do not watch any of it.

There is virtually zero chance I buy a PPV (or even block the time on a Saturday night) for WMMA heavy cards, I simply watch the MMA highlights the following day, and watch the full fights when next available.

PPV buys are reportedly a disaster in recent years. I have a hard time believing this isn't part of it, as I already vote with my dollars. IMO the reason they don't run all WMMA PPV events is the buys would be atrocious.
 
WMMA is one of the worst examples of professional athletics in existence. I think given time that might change with respect to technical proficiency and flow, but what won't change is the athleticism, or I should say the lack thereof when compared to men. Good WMMA fighters exist, but not enough to justify its existence from my point of view. I dislike paying for their subpar efforts.

Also, this thread made for an interesting read. Some people really take differing opinions poorly, sheesh.

Remember Maycee Barber vs Erin Blanchfield.. I was so happy when that shit got cancelled because i was able to go to bed early because if not my ADHD towards MMA would have required me to stay up and watch that baggy bitchfest..

Fuck no. For every absolute banger, there are hundreds of absolute garbage fights.

The fact is, men are just more physically capable and put on far better fights.

If there was an option to just keep the best of the best women, like top 5% of them and they just fought each other, sure but that's never going to happen.

It's why they will NEVER put on all women cards, they know it's cheap filler content and has zero ability to stand on its own merits.
