I've regretted it for... damn nearly 15 years now. Is what it is but I would go back and undo it if I could.

I’ve been with my wife for 20 years now — we met when I was 22 and she was 19.

We’ve been through pretty much everything together: studying, unemployment, building careers, buying a house, having kids, losing parents… the whole spectrum of life. I think after that many years you either grow together or grow apart. We’ve definitely grown together, and I honestly can’t imagine life without her and the kids.

That said, every now and then you do wonder how “easy” it might feel to be single again — lol. But when I look at my single friends, I quickly realize it would probably only be fun for a couple of months. It seems pretty lonely, and modern dating looks like an absolute nightmare.

Like a married friend once told me: the perfect life would be if you could magically be married for 10 days, single for 5, married for 10 again, and so on — the best of both worlds 🙂

don’t regret getting married even though it didn’t work out, I more regret all the clear mistakes I made in hindsight even though I do have the feeling it was necessary for my personal growth and probably wouldn’t have learned and had realizations without the experience

It is heartwarming to read all the comments from people who found the one and made it work, sometimes through the hardest of lifes challenges. Makes me wish I could go back and undo a lot of bad (and hasty) life decisions I've made in the past.

I will never forget the day my mother died.

My father looked at me and said he was glad she went first, so that she didn't have to suffer the pain he was going though.

Never been married, but I’ve been with my gf over 16 years, so maybe we will someday.

No rush.
It's a big decision.

Best to take your time and get to know eachother first. <seedat>

I held the line for 13 years... fought the good fight for as long as possible before I waived the white flag and settled into the big fade.

We have been together since 1995 and married since 2007.

No regrets on the marriage. Our marriage is awesome.

it's an old tradition that doesn't fit under the modern rules of society anymore.

it's called "til death do us part" for a reason, yet everyone divorces.
