Do you rank Khabib over GSP?

It was only at the end of his career that Khabib started fighting top ranked fighters. GSP fought ranked fighters basically every fight he had in the UFC

I loved watching both of them though
And some of the fighters before Ufc were actually known fighters a well

Pretty much this right here +1

But to give an honest answer, in my opinion Khabib will be remembered more so then GSP, as a "GOAT" type. GSP will be remembered for his ko loss to Matt and then beating him in the rematch, he will be remembered for his questionable win vs Hendricks, and he will be remembered for having the best MMA Wrestling without having any high school, collegiate or international wrestling competitions on his resume.. until Khabib came along and had better MMA Wrestling, also with no high school, collegiate or international wrestling competitions on his resume. GSP had a much longer career within the UFC, though def not in overall career, but so have many others that are not in the GOAT talks, yet have the resume to back it up.. DC, DJ, being two that come to mind. But all those guys losses are brought up to discredit their GOAT status, so why is the same not said about GSP? DC actually defended the second title he won and beat many in that weight class, lost twice to a proven cheat and yet DC is quickly dismissed in the GOAT discussion. Khabib has arguably only lost two rounds in the UFC, five rounds in his entire career, has never been beaten in MMA in and out of the UFC, has changed the way many look at offensive grappling, has brought in a whole demographic of people that really didn't care for the sport of MMA like they do today, has proven to be many of the top fighters favorite fighter and one many try to emulate in the gym. His whole team even copies his look, as have others not on his team. As a GOAT imo, one needs to be dominant in the cage, respected outside of the cage and a factor in life to others outside and inside of the sport. He checks all the boxes while many others in the conversation, do not. Then those saying GSP had a longer career, need to check to see how many Pro fights both men had.

My list would be Khabib, DJ, DC, GSP, Fedor as my top 5 "GOATS" in modern MMA.
Im not so sure Khabibs mma. Wrestling is better.

Gsp fought The Who’s who of mma wrestlers during his run.

Khabibs competition did not have the same wrestling pedigree of Goerges.

Would have Kahib looked as good against a prime Hughes? Fitch Kos?

Don’t think so..

Nope... But top 5. Behind St Pierre and Jones. Ahead of Mighty Mouse and Anderson.

Yes.

As we are all talking "woulda, coulda, shoulda" I think Khabib / GSP same age, same weight class, same time frame and Khabib would have been the man.

On a level field Khabib is more naturally gifted than GSP who acquired his skills through serious applications of training and technique.

In short I think Khabib was born to fight with or without Nap.
Watch Gsp’s Early fights, he was taking people out and ruthlessly attacking.

it. Wasnt until he went to. Jackson’s where he changed his style to the “tactical, no risks “ style.

God no. I don't even rate him as high as Hughes in many ways.

Khabib appeared to be more dominant a fighter. Hughes dominated his era more, and longer. See what I mean? Depending on the phrasing of the question, Hughes rates higher.

Khabib is more like Cain. A guy who appeared to be as dominant as anyone can possibly be....but for just too short an era. Too few bouts. Like Bo Jackson for the Raiders.

There is a easy argument to be made that GSP, Anderson, Fedor , Jones or Khabib is the Goat . All were fantastic in their prime. If you are of the belief that only one has never lost or even been close to losing and that he alone is the goat there certainly some evidence to backup your claim.

No. Khabib is quite onedimensional, and never showed how he would do vs someone that outsizes him. GSP fought better opponents.
At least half the division is bigger than he is lol. GSP was as big or bigger than all of his opponents. That is a super weak excuse for downgrading Khabibi.

Khabib needs like 2-3 quality wins and he can be in line with George.

Khabib is amazing and he’s in my top 5 all time, but he hasn’t eclipsed Georges yet. For me, title defenses are one of the most important factors, and Khabib just isn’t there yet. He 100% has the ability though if he came back, but at the rate he fights it would take years to accumulate 5 or 6 more title defenses.

Nope..

He's possibly the lw goat (very debatable) but gsp is the undisputed ww goat and mw champion.. and the debatable goat..

Btw i respect both guys and despise both guys' style.. finish or draw.. math is math though..

GSP is the most accomplished clean fighter ever, whereas Khabib is the most dominant clean fighter we've seen. Both legends in their own right and, as always, comparing them directly is entirely subjective and largely, in my opinion, pointless.

I think it will be many years before we see an honest fighter with as good a resume as Georges, and just as long before we see a multiple-time defending champion who dropped 2 rounds or less in his entire career.

I'd vote khabib

GSP tapped to strikes from a midget named matt serra.
Tapped to matt hughes armbar. D1 wrestler.
went to a split against hendricks.

Khabib dominated everyone in a division more stacked than GSPs. I have no reason to believe he couldn't run through the entire LW division with ease.

Not at all downgrading Khabib. He is a phenomenal fighter, and I was hoping we got to see the next Fedor. I am surprised every time I see him, at how dominant he is.
However, he is a very big guy, that struggle to make lw. GSP was also a pretty big weightcutter (if I am not mistaken, even if he never failed weight), so they both probably had this advantages in most fights. GSP fighting the MW champ was an impressive feat, even if he had beat Bisping in practice. I would like to see how Khabib does when undersized. That is what all the greats do.

He was on his way - no doubt. I have to be fair - on his way and he decided to retire so that's on khabib.
