I'm all for fights that are made just for the hell of it, or potential excitement if it doesn't fuck with the title picture

Fights that make sense? Not too many of these nowadays. Some turn out to be boring. Just when the fighters don't engage much. 2 top 5-10 guys fighting makes sense and are fun when it lives up to it. I enjoy the technical aspect of the fight, but sometimes neither fights and waits to counter. I like fun fights, but also are kinda stupid..it gives one fighter sometimes an easier win, and the other, a step closer to the door.
We still get both..there's a few fun fights on each card and fights that make sense, not so much. But we get them.

It was a "fun" fight, but was dumb too. That fight did nothing for Conor, even if he had won. I said before that fight that Nate wasn't gonna be a pushover. Conor huggers thought he'd walk thru him, only a handful seemed to pick Nate. But it was fun.
the rematch is even more dumb. I'll be watching tho. because it will be fun too.

fights that make sense could be potential fun fights... fun fights are just that, so I def prefer fights that make sense, its better for the sport and rewarding for the fighters

What a silly question. Why would anyone need to pick one over the other? We watch to be entertained, the purpose of the fight means nothing.

The fight between Alvarez and RDJ makes more sense than Diaz/Mcgregor I or II, but I'd prefer to see Diaz/Mcgregor any day of the week.

I think there can be an equal balance of both.

But title holders should only be in fights that make sense.
