Social Do you love or hate Christmas?

I like it, take two weeks off post Xmas every year, get presents, see family etc, it's a good time of year.

Best memories I have of growing up was a VHS tape full of old Christmas cartoons we would watch every year. Also, getting a tree and watching my brother and sisters decorate it. And of course, watching Home Alone I and 2 every damn year. It was awesome watching my nieces and nephews join that tradition over the years.

We were broke as a joke growing up but we were always blessed to have presents and food for Christmas. I know it’s not just about gifts, but I’m grateful we had something.

Dislike it. Wife pretty much ruined it for me. All funds get diverted to Christmas shopping which always leave me in an uncomfortable position. Even picking out presents is an issue. I just give her what I can afford in cash and step away.

I like holidays. New Year is the main one for Russians unless they are very religious. I love giving gifts, I love the food, and I like the holiday spirit, decorations, happy people on the streets, etc.
I hate when shops and venues start decorating for Christmas and New Year in the beginning of November, though. Waters down the atmosphere of the actual holidays.

I was in the same boat, though I hated it when I was younger. Crap experiences. M sons came along and xmas became a blast. Hopefully it does for you too.
