You realise Mercers other MMA fight was him getting stopped in the first round by.......Kimbo, right?

That was an exhibition and happened before the Tim fight.
Mercer thought it was boxing with little gloves and then tapped to a headlock cuz he didnt know what was going on.


So when he fought Tim it was suppose to be a boxing match but then was switched to a MMA fight a couple days before. Ray told Tim, do whatever you want cuz Im knocking you out. Tim threw a leg kick, Mercer threw a punch and Tim went down.

Yes, but his book came out years and years after Tim was relevant. Fans AT THE TIME thought Tim was a bum because Hughes basically bad mouthed him all the time.

That book is wild. I've never read an autobiography where the protagonist is the bad guy.

I never liked Hughes, and that book made me like him even less.

but the book really showed that he was extremely weird about alot of shit, and really makes me wonder why they would put some of that shit in there.

There was alot of stuff the UFC shoulda advised against puttin in there. It was at a time where several of their top stars put out books at around the same time, and none of em where as weird or hurtful to their career as Hughes; was.
