Imagine openweight tournaments . Could have one at 140 175 and then hw. Could be some intriguing matchups.

Yeah I'd really like it. But there are probably many guys who wouldn't want to participate, just stay in their respective weight classes and keep with the normal division matchups.

I mean I doubt we'd have true OW tourneys with guys like DJ fighting Stipe but I can definitely see 3 or maybe even 4 weight class spreads happening. Darren Till vs. Mark Hunt make it happen

There should be an Ultimate Fighting Champion. All you have to do is remove the minimum weight for heavyweight and give that title to the heavyweight champion. It's still heavyweight but 205er's can challenge for it and you get to use a marketable term that helps casuals who will only pay attention to one fighter at a time.

That's why it should be for like a 5 mill purse. Something worth fighting for

Also, it would be a nice change of pace and most likely end the discussions like the one Rogan had on his podcast a few times about doing away with belts/champions. A tourney every now and then would probably be enough for most of those fans.

Half those guys aren't even heavyweights, and most of them are so far past their prime that the fights have looked pretty sloppy, even by bellator standards. I mean there isn't a single heavyweight in his prime in that whole tournament.

If that's what you're proposing the UFC should do, no thanks. I think if anything we need more weight divisions.

More weight divisions would make the champ look less impressive as less talent. How do you see more weight divisions being better

GP & OWGP. What better way to add legend status than beat heavier opponent?

Because the current weight spacing makes no sense. 185 vs 205 is a huge jump, and so is 155-170. Boxing has too many weight classes, and Olympic wrestling has too few. I think every 10 lbs up to 190 is fine. Then go up to 205 and heavyweight (265). Rogan mentioned something similar to this I think in one of his recent podcasts.

Also, I see what you're saying but I honestly think once we got used to it, nobody would give a shit if we added a couple more champions. Literally nobody. They're still the best at what they do.

I guess. I could live with 165 175 185 195 205 then hw

Would like to see any sort of fucking GP .... a MW gp a HW gp a LHW gp , just get some of that shit going already.
