Oh. I understand. They appeal to younger people or comic book fans so I see why f or some they would be boring.

But some are undeniable in its quality.
For movies like Captain America I can agree undeniable in quality, but nothing that approaches greatness.

Yeah I put civil war on there. I'm not a fan of begins. It's good but not for me.
Spiderman 1 > Spiderman 2

Was referring to JSN.

Civil War is great, but each to their own.

I think;

TWS > CW

TDKR > BB

SM1 = SM2

Would include all of them + TDK, IW, NWH and Iron Man

For movies like Captain America I can agree undeniable in quality, but nothing that approaches greatness.

Like above average action films for sure. TWS is a gem

Yes. All of them. I was reading comics before I could even read. Already had a collection going in my earliest memories. I don't like what these films have done to the comics industry itself, but I enjoy them and love the fact that comics will always be around no matter how bad sales are bc of the films. The movies have all but killed interest in comics, for whatever reason, but not for this guy. Still read them everyday, and always will.

I do but overkill ruins anything, for now I find Marvel particularly unbearable, especially the comedy elements they have introduced recently

Extended universe has made it very tedious, hoping for more stand alone movies like Logan, the new Batman and Joker

Winter soldier is good but haven't seen it in some time. Civil war really stuck with me though. It introduced SM, BP and it not only had a great 5 v 5 fight but also the ending with iron man v Capt and WS.

Yeah, it’s great. Only thing; the story and pacing was better in TWS, and plot wise it also works well, the color and gritty style was better and it didn’t have to switch characters from a place to another.

Civil War has better villain, character development and action, though. Black Panther was at his best in the film.

Ragnarok is the one that is overrated and doesn’t deserve to be in any top 10 imo.

I think doctor strange, watchmen, age of Ultron are all better than it. Also both guardians

Disagreed. Ragnarok was one of the most fun times I had watching it in the theaters. It's the funniest mcu movie to me and I enjoyed everything in it.

Ragnarok is top 5 for me easily. Maybe even top 3.

Dr strange is the most underrated and under appreciated. The first 30 mins of it I forgot I was even watching a superhero movie.

Rami has a lot of pressure to deliver the sequel.

Seems like the genre either has good films or absolute shit bombs.

As you get older it seems you like the genre less, and don’t watch them.

Then you have kids and are watching them again.

So it’s a repetitive cycle. If I live long enough I’m sure when my kids are grown I’ll stop again, then start again with the grandkids. If I line long enough that is..

i'm nauseated by superhero genre

If i don't count current oversaturation a solid "usually not but sometimes yes"

I don't get them at all.

I mean, I remember watching the Superman movies as a kid, and I liked them. I liked the Batman movie with Micheal keaton as well.

The problem is that they over-saturated the market with these movies the last 20 years, and now they're literally an entire genre. They have stupid plots, bad acting, and lots of annoying special effects. If you've seen one, you've basically seen them all. Even worse, they're like over 2 hours long. That's an eternity to watch an effects driven turd of a movie. Even the Lord of the Rings movies sucked for that reason. Trying to watch something like Black Panther or an X-men movie that long is like torture.

Once again, I just don't get them at all????????

Still have my Blade vhs somewhere, my favorite superhero movie of all time

Yeah. First doctor strange was very good.

Heavily disagree. Thought guardians of galaxy, no way home and avengers 1 were more fun

I love the genre. I picked up my first comic book at age ~8/9. I was visiting my grandparents. My uncle still lived at home (he was/is slight special needs) at the time. I was looking through a bookshelf my grandfather had upstairs, when I spotted a bunch of old comics (keep in mind, this was early 80s) amongst the National Geographic magazines. So I collected them all, and read them. I was pretty much hooked. When I asked my uncle about them, he said I could have them. That was it. I started my own collection (stupidly, having no idea of the value of these books, I traded them all away for newer comics). For the next ~10 years I amassed a sizeable collection of comics. Shortly after I turned 19, I stopped collecting.

I still loosely followed them though, and in my early 30s started playing a table top miniatures game that used super heros as the play pieces. Kind of like chess......with super powers. Met some good buddies through that game, that I'm still friends with to this day (stopped playing/collecting that game around 9 years ago now).

Anyway, there is still so much material for them to tap into in the genre. So many stories, villains, heros. I hope it never stops. That being said, I have been slightly underwhelmed with Phase 4 of the MCU so far. Maybe just because the build up of the first 3 Phases to the conclusion of Endgame was so epic. It's really going to be hard to top all of that.

Not even daredevil or DCAU? I’d reccomend these or the new mcu shows as they’re short.

New ones is 6 episodes and one each week so 50 minutes and that’s it for each week

Just prefer the movies. Not really into too much tv honestly unless it's older tv shows.

Same for me. But I started watching TV shows mostly when they are short, and have just one or three seasons.

Most tv shows that out well then suck. Very rarely are they consistent all the way thru. After GoT and Walking dead dropped the ball it's too difficult for me to want to invest my time in anything tv related.
