Do you know anyone who killed someone?

My brother ran a guy over last month with his work vehicle. He was driving a 20 ton truck at 9am and a drunk on a bike cut across the road without looking. He was headed to the liquor store for his fix as soon as it opened. The cops walked into the liquor store and looked at the front door cam and told my brother he was free to go, it wasn't his fault. My bros boss got a hold of the videos just in case and my brother showed me them. It was kind of his fault. Apparently i'm the only one who thought that.

If he had seen the guy he surely could have stopped in time, but the road was underconstruction and forcing him to merge. He was looking over his shoulder until 10 feet from impact. I isolated the footage and slowed it for him. It wasnt gory but the guy died instantly, or at least was instantly unconscious.

This was in LA/OC CA. I don't understand how anyone can ride a bike across an 8 lane road in morning traffic without looking; he must have already been fucked up.

Corona.

The driving has been insane here in Montreal during the lock down, and I'm not exaggerating to make a point. Everyone knows they aren't going to get pulled over during a pandemic and there are a lot less cars on the roads, so it's basically been like a Mad Max movie. I saw a guy cut someone off and that guy accelerated to 100 MPH to chase him. I slowed down and left them to mess about in the distance.

Yep
One guy punched another in a drunken altercation and the guy fell hit his head and died

Other guy confessed to me a murder
Didn’t know what the fuck to do with that info
The guy died not long ago so I don’t think about it that much now

My uncle got sentenced to 75 years for killing his wife's lover.

She was like 30 years younger (he was early 50s, her early 20s) so you know it wasn't gonna work out. Anyway, they had two kids and were on the verge of separating. She doesn't come home for several days and when she does, she announces she's taking the kids and her clothes. AND she brings her boyfriend- a much younger, brash dude.

My uncle was waiting for this and shoots the BF at the apartment's doorstep and then kidnaps his wife. There was a police standoff for several hours where he raped her before turning himself in to the cops. Motherfucker could have easily gotten a few decades less but he showed zero remorse during the trial. I think he even said he'd kill his wife if he gets out.

He had prior history at all. Was kind of a dick and talked crazy, but hadn't actually done anything.

I know a lady who killed her abusive husband.
I know a couple of people who committed suicide.

I know some people who were doing drugs

one of the persons OD and started having convulsions and shit.

The other people were too afraid to call the police and let the person die

You probably never recover from that shit. I know Matthew Broderick accidentally killed a kid in a similar manner... He didn't make movies for a while after that.
Obviously. I mean, he married a horse.

One of my coworkers who was a prior marine. Had extreme ptsd when he came back from Iraq, mentioned how he had to literally pick up the pieces of his battle buddy who was blown up by an IED. He also had a few confirmed and possibly unconfirmed kills on the field

When I was in high school my neighbour shot her kid then herself. Her husband came home after work and found them, then I found him screaming on our front door step.

I saw cops gun down a guy on the side of the road, I posted the story here before.

a couple.
i grew up in Abq on the eastside, not the worst place in town. things still were a littl rough.
i was cool with a guy from the rez, he was super happy and chill and we would often go to.his house to drink and shit during school hours. one of the kids who hung out arpund there was a hot headed wannabe and spent all his time lookong.for.trouble and testing people.

he went to adult jail and fit right in. when he got out he had a connect for guns and vests and all sorts of things. he nasically got crazy and would try to pocket check people and then flash his cuete if tbey didnt back down.
my buddy had a baby and he was trying to.live life right but he liked having all the gangsters over probably.becuase then he could smoke for free.
the aformentioned kid came by and someone started talking shit. this led to a gunfight in the apartment the kid and my.buddy both got shot my buddy died hia baby was in the room next to them.

a lot of the Rez dudes i knew ended up getting fucked up because of seriously dumb shit.

another dude i went to highschool with in Colorado killed his gfs mother on his gfs orders. they stabed her in the neck while she was sleeping and them tried to cut her up but couldnt do it with the kitchen knives so they threw her in the trunk of a car and partied in her house for a week and showed off her body to peeps.
sombody called the cops. the kids drove the body up to the mountains to try and bury it. and got busted.

Depends, does signing a "Do not resuscitate" agreement count?

Yep.

I've got friends who went to war and also a friend who did 10 years for murder.

Another friend was also locked up for 2 years as at 16 for killing a guy in a street fight.

In all, I’ve had about ~25 friends / acquaintances who got shot / died from violence in that lifestyle.

SWIM says that the biggest OG, in that department, he met was a Venezuelan guy. 25 hits on his belt and the guy looked and acted like your average palooka. Think Pedro in Napoleon Dynamite.
His role was to be the Hand of the King, if you catch my drift. Was always a bit stressful meeting him. Mainly because the guy who SWIM worked for at the time, had pissed off Pedro's boss in the past and had caught a beating too. It was all cool later on though you never knew if it was going to spill over.
Also, fwiw both guys got caught on the wrong side of it later on. Within a few years of each other. Dunno what happened to Pedro.

A couple of others too but it was all in the game and nothing like the guy above.
That SWIM, if anybody cares, I don’t see him anymore though. It’s been 7 years. I’m 40 now.

My grandmother got my grandfather killed so she could fk off with her lover and my granddaddy’s money.

Some girl committed suicide because my dad didn’t want to commit to her. He was just 20 or something ffs.

A first cousin committed suicide. So himself, I guess.

A grand aunt got brutally murdered by her help. Lone widower fabulously rich.

My wife's grandfather was a war vet. An officer. Against the Chinese. He didn’t particularly like talking about the killing. You could tell it affected him. 50 years later (he was 95) he got a bit teary eyed. Also he’d never said the words shot or killed, he’d used euphemisms like "we took care of the problem then moved uphill...."

So overall,

Yeah, a few. I have an older brother that ran in a bad crowd. I had one of the stories thats "Funny, but not really, but it is, actually." Basically one of his crazy friends was named Seth and almost anytime we went over to his house he'd be doing something with one of rifles. He had all sorts of crazy shit like AK-47s, Uzis, and crap.

Anyway, he killed a few people. But what he got caught for was when he stabbed somebody over 30 times and they didnt die. So when the cops asked "Hey, who stabbed you 37 times" he just replied "Seth".

So he gets sentenced. Then a bizarre coincidence happens. I was an administration of Justice major in college. One of the things we did was go to nearby jails and prisons as field trips. We went to our local jail and they were transferring out prisoners. My teacher at the time was old school. He was literally a prison guard at Alcatraz. So they told us to make room because they were transferring out some people and we had to make a lot of space. My teacher loved to try to scare the girls in the classes and stuff, so he talked about how these were the "worst of the lot" because they had the orange jumpsuits and shit. Anyway, the elevator door opens and out walks 4 or 5 dudes in orange jumpsuits and shackled up with leg/wrist irons. One of them, of fucking course, was Seth. Who's hard to miss because hes like 6'5" and looks like a viking. So all these dudes walk by our teacher and class and Seth sees me and just says "Oh, hey Alex" as he walked by. My teacher thought it was hilarious but the rest of the class gave me a weird look, haha.

You probably never recover from that shit. I know Matthew Broderick accidentally killed a kid in a similar manner... He didn't make movies for a while after that.

Wasn’t a kid, was another driver. He was driving on the wrong side of the road and “has no recollection” of what happened. He should have done time for that, along with that diplomat’s wife who killed a guy in the U.K. last year and fled to the States to evade justice.

My cousin shot a guy in an armed robbery, aged 17, did his time.

My grandfather was German and fought in the polish resistance against the Nazis. By all accounts he was a busy bee, but his and his friends never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
