I only know 1. My Uncle. He worked for tech company that made circuit boards and eventually worked his way up to CEO. He then got fired so he started his own company. The first company started to go downhill so they re-hired him as CEO. He eventually merged thw two and took them public. He owned 65% and sold themfor something like 600 million. This was back in the 80's. Hes the most competitive person Ive ever met. Even when playing kids games against his grandkids he plays to win. He says he never tried to make money it just happened. FML

...thug living out of prison, pistols in the air?

My boss might be. If not he's close. I think he probably had some help from co-signers on big loans.

He owns close to 100 rental properties. Lots of them still aren't paid off though. He probably makes about $350,000 a year, but he has a lot of expenses. He's a master of the tax deductions so that helps.

ya i have a cousin on each side of my family that are literally rolling in $$$
moms side the dude owns several city buildings, im talking international style. owns them in almost every major city, and they are basicly sky scraper status. or at least he owns portions of them not realyl sure, but he throws large amounts of money around like its going out of stly.e
on my dad side the dude owns a media/information selling business, not really sure exacly what it does, but its on wall street, and the board memebers are ll legit loaded out the A.
im roughly 75 grand int he hole, so im just balancing the universe out.

Yep, cool story. The youngest of 5 siblings. The 4 oldest in the family business. He graduated college but the family business was struggling and his Dad told him he couldn't hire him.

Got into sales and found they capped his income at a certain point so he looked into financial sales where income couldn't be capped. Invested pretty heavily into a variety of sales related industry courses. Now manages his own company and is one of the top high net worth financial managers in the country. Very chill guy, eases seamlessly into virtually any social or work setting. The ultimate positive thinker.

Million is not a lot of money these days. My father purchased multi-family in Manhattan, and he was just a waiter when made his first purchase. He is easily now a millionaire.

My dad. Grew up poor as shit. Worked 3 jobs in college and invested it in the garment district in ny in the 70's. Got a great job after he graduated and then sold his shares in the late 80's. He just retired and now he and my mom are living stress free now, they were cheap as fuck growing up. To their credit they spoil the shit out of all their grandkids tho

I read Tools for Titans by Tim Ferris. Forward by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A fan came up to Arnold to praise him saying he is 'self made.'

Arnold cut him off saying, "I STOOD ON THE SHOULDERS OF TITANS.'

Translation: HE HAD AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF MENTORS.

There is no 'self made millionaire.' The same with 'original thought.' We are all acquiring info and knowledge as well as skills from everywhere. The notion of self made is absurdity at its finest and an example of ego to the max.

I know what people mean by self made but, don't kid yourself. If you look at Gary Vee or everyone and anybody that is super successful, they always praise other people. It shows humility among a variety of other positive qualities. No kidding they succeeded.

A guy I used to work for in Myrtle Beach started off building decks for people; now he's building big ass beach houses in Pawleys Island and he built a 150 home development in Murrells Inlet.

My dad and some of my dads friends.

Some of my sisters friends. Bout 3-5 of her friends.

My grandpa was.

Made millions in real estate and construction companies.

My best friend is a retired poker millionaire. He's a savant that found his niche and an incredibly smart dude.

He was, at the time, a top 10 LHE pro in the world and he's played with all the pros. He retired after the bubble burst. Great guy, and great story. The ups and downs of such a profession is surreal.

Construction is a goldmine. The apartment complex next to mine made a 2 million euro surplus. It's not a big one. Like 20 apartments or something. Looks like a fucking container. Each apartment going for like 300k a piece.

Couple girls I went to high school with invented the post-it note

Construction can also be a death trap. Bid one job wrong and you are underwater quick. Liquidity becomes an issue fast depending on when you are paid, purchasing materials and paying wages. I did it solo and made very little off 110k in invoices.
