Do you have young kids? What are you doing to ready them for a world turned upsidedown?

I don't have kids. I currently don't want kids, and one of the main reasons for that is my belief, that the coming machine revolution, which is happening now, will turn the whole world upside down.

The last world changing event on this scale was the industrial revolution. These changes were slow moving in a world without flight, electronic communication, and no global infastructure, but they eventually lead to everything that shapes our world today. In political/economic philosophy from capitalism to communism, it was the catalyst for the entropy that lead to WWI, and hence WWII.

Every bit of horror, and progress of the last 200 years was shaped by the industrial revolution.

We are living right now, in the first waves of the machine revolution. This revolution will move rapidly. It will spawn new political and economic ideology. Power will shift. Those that adapt will thrive, those that dont will pay the price. This will likely lead to war.

Here is my question. If you have young children, what skills are you teaching them to be ready for a brave new world?

Computer coding?

Survival skills?

Is this something the average parent knows, or thinks about?

Discuss.......

Edit: Note to mods, If you are going to dump this, please move to Mayberry instead.
Teach them how to think, not what to think. And they are also banned from social media until they are adults.

I like it because of the TMA aspect and not getting punched in the head as much.

I feel if my sons grow up as well educated children of well educated parents in the best country in the world he has some duty of care towards the extremely vast majority of people who didn't have his advantages. Further such efforts tend to make people happy.

That's became you want to instill true values into your children. Not just "me me me me, give me more" attitude most people Instill in their shitty fucking children.

Keep up the good work.

It’s kind of scary thinking about the direction this country is turning. The fascist regressive intolerant left throwing fits and causing terror is particularly alarming to me. You have people encouraging and applauding mentally ill people who think they are different genders. You have disgusting communist sympathizers supporting people like Bernie Sanders. You have millions of people on Medicaid and disability because they are too lazy to work.

My plan is to put my kids in an expensive Catholic school even though I’m not religious. It will shelter them from some of the scumbags they may encounter. Teach them work ethic and the importance of education. Good people like myself are being outnumbered by the scum of society.

I want my kids to be like Cable, or Winter Soldier or even Metallo. This is going to be so cool. This robot revolution is a dream come true for me.

Explain to them the medi a wants everyody to be low class and nasty, because then they have low ecoectatind forf life. Tell them garbage urban culture is being pushed because they WANT some entity to come in and make the decisions, assume kind of need it, and it's a quick way to deteriorate the spirit that makes normal people demand rights and a middle class life. Kim K is a lie to further this.

If we see WWIII, because of the machine revolution, I think it will be 20, 30 years from now. You will be retired, your kid will be in his prime.

I'm not happy about the fact, that I will most likely be old and decrepit when the shit hits the fan.

I really think computer programming might be the most important survival skill of all 20, 30 years from now.

Being able to hack a drone, will be more valuable then being able to shoot.

I wish it will happen now.

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster Tor the human race. They

have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in "advanced" countries,
but they hitvc destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings
to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical
suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued
development of technology will worsen the situation. Il will certainly subject human beings
lo greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to
greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical
suffering even in "advanced" countries.

.

Before the INdustrial revolution. all those above things happen (and whatever I may have deleted by accident). The industrial revolution does not make those things happen. Humans make those things happen. If we reverted back to the stone, we will still be hurting each other, messing with environment.

Careful bruh, this forum loves the incest accusations. Take good care of your lil girl tho man. I like seeing posters talk about their kids. :D

This is one of the few times i realize that latin and anglo cultures share their differences despite their similarities.

In hispanic countries eugenics is part of our culture, we may not divide people based on race, but we as society certainly value certain physical attributes over the others.

Different people value different things. And deeply so. It's very interesting

Education is key imo....I put my kids into a charter school that has had 100% college acceptance since 07, for next year...Public schools rank 4 out of 10 here..

Why are people here assuming the world is in a worse state than 50 years ago, or 1000 years ago, or 4000 years ago? People are cunts regardless of time period.

I wouldn't take anything for granted, especially when it comes to uninvented, hypothetically proposed future technology. I think it is generally a good idea to keep doing what humans have done forever in order to survive. One of their key functions being the ability to breed and raise their off-spring.

The Romans thought they had reached a point of civilization where men were no longer reduced to their crude physical function. Of course, they ended up being exposed for being completely wrong, and the entire Empire went down in a heap, with many people around those areas no longer even being able to read, or write, let alone invent any advanced technology, for centuries after.

From a biological perspective, what matters is whose genetic lineages survive, and whose don't. The current era will certainly eliminate many people's genetic potential, but it's going to do so in a more peaceful and generally acceptable way, than through the previous means of warfare/starvation/illnesses. It's going to do so through gradual emasculation and confusion of the ill-prepared, more so than anything, to the point where they deem the continuation of life to be too painful and burdensome.

Most modern social movements, in reality, are simply death cults for the generations of people that ultimately aren't fit to continue onwards into the future. They will render each other a peaceful end, if by no other means, then by a lack of reproduction and will to live, due to their deemed lack of a function for the system that they've placed above their own self.

Thank you sir.
I plan to.

Survival skills, not because I fear societal collapse, but because I love hunting and fishing and I usually take the little folks with me.

One things for sure, If you have to run off and live in the cut, it's going to be rough, next to impossible if you don't have hunting and fishing supplies.

Your job as a parent is to raise your kids into STRONG, fully functional human beings that can thrive in the world and go make their mark as adults.

That should be your aim, regardless if you think currently were living in the best time in human history, or there's impending doom around the corner.

I find it very interesting how many people seem to think this coming machine revolution, is hypothetical, or over hyped, far off in the future, ect......

Their are very few things I have a truly high level of confidence in, and this coming revolution is one of them.

The day one company becomes a clear leader in 3D printing, or a swiss army knife automation robot production company emerges, I will be putting my retirement fund, aka my money where my mouth is on this, as well as my decision to not have kids.
