Yes, very much so. I'd rather skydive or swim with great white sharks than do public speaking.

No.
I appreciate every opportunity where I can talk infront of many people , to learn them something, advise, and get their feedback.
But the reality is reflected in a section of a song from Iced Earth
For years I've tried to teach
But their eyes are empty

I used to not be bothered by public speaking. However, after starting to do it in multiple languages, it started to make me a little anxious.

Rather than go through the rest of your life with this problem, why not fix it?

Yeah you got a point. You can always slowly overcome that fear. That is true.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

And no , I don't fear public speaking, a bit nervous but that edge is useful.

For me it's not public speaking itself that is the issue, but level of confidence I have about what I'm talking about. I've spoke in public impromptu with no preparation and did well because I was just talking about whatever that came to mind (it was for public speaking contest that I entered spontaneously), or I did well when I had ample preparation, or when I wasn't prepared but I really didn't give a shit at all. But if I actually cared about the outcome, I'd be shaking. Once I publicly recited some very private poetry I wrote and it was the most nerve racking thing I've done. And I've jumped out of planes and cliff dive and shit. Diving with great whites sounds more awesome tbh.

I speak a bit of spanish but if I had to give a speech in public, I'd be nervous as hell.

True, you need some fear, to keep you sharp. You can't be too comfortable.

I'm not afraid at all. I used to be terrified but then it became a part of how I earned my money and after many years of doing it, I'm not afraid at all.

No, not at all. It's the effort in preparation and being informed about the subject that gets me. So as long as I have a team supplying the information, we're good.

I would be scared until I got up there and then it would get easier

Used to be almost petrified of it. Now have to do it all the time, actually enjoy it in many situations. Like anything, you do it enough, it becomes second nature. I think it can be very character building.

Some contexts can still be a bit stressful, but certainly not debilitating. You can learn a lot from watching polished, seasoned public speakers work their magic.

Absolutely not! I have 2 jobs and both entail public speaking. I frequently find myself in an auditorium full of hundreds of middle and high schoolers!

Now with that said, I think even the best of us find ourselves having a bit of pre-performance anxiety here and there, that's normal.
