on a par with Overeem's?

What about JDS?

I honestly believe he could beat either of these guys on the feet. And yes, I know what happened when he last fought these guys.

I'm impressed by the improvement in his striking, and his chin is solid.
 
No.But that's ok,because stand up is not his main focus.He can stand with them,but he is worlds above them on the ground...
 
Never count out Werdum, he has high fight iq, he is very capable of beating both
 
Technically of course not ... but in MMA there are many factors that fighters have to constantly be aware of , and Werdum´s striking style and various striking weapons combined with the threat of his submissions allow him to keep his oponents somewhat confused and tentative which enables him to land alot of strikes.
 
He is smart and tricky with his striking, he strings together attacks nicely.
 
He has a great thing going for him. His jiu jitsu is so insane that he doesn't need to wrestle and can concentrate on stand up only.
He improved a lot in past couple of years and has insane fight IQ.
 
Joe Rogan has the best stand up ability in the UFC..

In a pure stand up fight he would clearly lose to both. But his striking isn't his strongest area where it is for JDS and Overeem.
 
Werdum's standup is significantly better than it used to be but his standup isn't great.

He was getting tooled by Hunt before that knee.

JDS and Overeem will outstrike him again. Wouldn't be surprised if Miocic does too.
 
he had very good success against the reem with his strikes in the 2nd fight,till the knee injury,but Overeem might be improved enough where that wont be that easy. Still. Werdum's tactics and agression might be able to land the one shot that overeem will just fold under. When you hit werdum the guy goes baliistic on you. That could be a problem. You dont have to be as good a striker as the reem to beat him. He was tentative against hunt because it wasnt easy for him to keep hunt off him.Hunt wasnt in fear of getting hit. Econoreem is gonna be more careful and tentative...and that could work to werdums advantage

Miocic tools him standing and finishes him in the third.

I'm not gonna bump this post if I'm right though, cuz saying that I'm gonna do that would be jinxing it.

Taking Hunto's bombs, then proceeding to KO him is pretty impressive in my opinion. Sloppy defence, of course, in that fight.

Overeem would fold if Hunt grazed him with a shot.
 
No. Striking is JDS and Overeems base. Werdum has improved tenfold but he's still not and never will be a better striker than either of those guys.

Maybe in a kickboxing match,but this is an mma fight,and in a mma fight Werdum could stop both those guys with strikes

This is the problem with werdum,he basically just goes chute boxe rock em sockem on guys who brawl it out with him if he thinks he can hurt them. Wisely he avoided that with hunt...but with cain he just threw back and ate punches...good thing he has a good chin.

He could but I would favour both of them if the fight stays on the feet. JDS moreso because he is more resilient.
