Let's be honest: the main reason some people think TJ is BW GOAT is because of his 2 dominant victories over Barao. At the time, those beatdowns were spectacular. He also finished Garbrandt.

However:
1. TJ got busted for EPO, after Garbrandt said publicly TJ was using it
2. Those wins against Barao and Garbrandt did not age well
3. TJ lost to Cruz, who came back after a long layoff

So no, TJ isn't BW GOAT.

He had a great career, but he's also a cheater who used a PED that specifically enhanced his style of fighting (high volume, high movement).

Right now, the only fighter who has a clear case for BW GOAT is Cruz, who was still competitive with top 10 fighters even after multiple major injuries.

I think the claim he's the GOAT bantamweight is laughable and utterly ridiculous. That said, he's won the title twice, which is no easy feat.

His strength of schedule hasn't aged the best but I still think he makes it.

Note: PED's don't hold much merit for UFC HoF. It's a joke HoF.

others say his legacy is tainted by his steroid use, being an overall piece of shit person and teammate, just being all out for himself and screwing anyone in his path over with no regard (aldo is hte most recent example).

While the same can be said about jon jones... tj run definitley was not on jon jones level. the mma world has moved on fine without jones these past 3 years.

i think the character issues will make people forget about him unless he resurrects his post fight career with some social mediaesque career. so rather his career being compared to mma goat he will most likely be compared to joseph benedez types.
