Do you believe your life was already written?

As long as we're all on the same page of the book then it makes no practical difference either way.

I don't believe in that bible bullshit, I write my own stories ;)

There is no free will. Everything you do has been influenced in some way or another. What you think was a choice, was actually predetermined. Your life was destined to be what it is.

I think it's both.. Jenny.. I think both is happening at the same time.

Written as in by a higher power (i.e god)? Absolutely not. I don't believe in that

The mind-body problem has consumed the intellectual careers of some of the brightest scientists and philosophists to ever exist. Despite all of that hard work, we still don't have a clear cut answer.

Consciousness is a complex phenomena, and we might never be able to fully understand what it is. It is possible that we are all epistemically bounded, so we may never know..

God helping us sometimes but we must recognize that and change are life or continue drinking like Conor

uhh, yeah no.

And if true (and huge) then I'm guessing my book is in the bargain bin because it sucks ass most of the time.

Took that blue pill decades ago. Only problem is with or without a god, there still doesn't appear to be free will.

Really though determinism defeats itself doesn't it? by its very nature is means that action cannot be taken against it so why worry?

So you are asking if each of us believe we have free will?

I hate it when people say, 'it was meant to be,' or 'everything happens for a reason.' That last one especially does my nut in. It doesn't even make fucking sense!

I'm not worried, just answering the question in the thread. Lack of free will doesn't necessarily mean lack of purpose either.

As long as it's not George RR Martin.

But truly, that idea makes no sense. Unless we're living in the matrix.
