The first time I saw him and Randall Carlson on rogan I thought it was one of the most interesting conversations I've ever heard. And it still is. But the more interviews I see with GH the more I get snake oil salesman vibes. I'm getting the impression he's like one step up from the Ancient Alien guys. He's just a much slicker speaker than them.

What you think?

not necessarily but I find a lot of that interesting and entertaining. Not everything has to be true to be intriguing. I really think the interest in many conspiracy theories are the escapism it gives people from mundane day to day reality.

I mean, it's a known fact that the Smithsonian has actively taken over archaeological sites and blatantly recovered and hidden discoveries from these sites. That said, most of his other stuff are harmless theories with at least some credible evidence to back it up, like the cities along the Amazon, etc.

Initially very intrigued from the Rogan podcasts, now I've watched his full series I have little to no interest in hearing much else from him.

No

I think he is just making stuff up to sell books.

Dont need to watch rogaines stupid podcast to catch up those guests he has.

I've enjoyed his books. He has lots of interesting ideas. The blind hate he gets for thinking outside the box is pretty over the top though.

People can speculate all they want about humanity's ancient past and guess what? We probably won't ever know the real truth. So speculate on Mr. Hancock. I enjoy entertaining alternate ideas and theories

Much is true.

Just gotta study the actual history yourself.

Of course, he uses real knowledge and ancient history to support his own narratives as well.

Forbidden archeology and history is definitely a real thing though.

The true origins, mysticism and mystery of our history is often more than the average person could handle.

There's also a sort of historical mafia, so to speak.

Much like the medical mafia which is heavily influenced and financed by pharmaceutical companies. Designed to push drugs and keep effective, unpatentable treatments and ideology outside of public awareness.

They're protecting a sort of status quo and bottom line to their Interests, whatever they may be.

Anyone who comes with a different version of history than the official narrative, will be attacked in some capacity.

Much like doctors or scientists who step too far out of line

Levels to everything in life.

Some are afraid to ask questions and color outside the lines of official narratives. Believing these authority figures to be the absolute.

But there's always more than meets the eye.

Many industries are heavily controlled, leaving out a substantial amount of data and knowledge which doesn't serve the bottom line.

Without this acknowledgement, I wouldn't expect to see or understand much about this world.

And you really believe you got something there.

Yes.
He makes a very good argument.
I stopped believing this narrative a long time ago:

Some of his theories seem valid enough for more investigation, but the whole conspiracy theory that archaeoligists(sp) are holding back the truth really damage him imo

The idea of sunken human settlements I think is certainly valid and does get a good deal of investigation already although he seems to push it to extremes, the idea that human advancement was set back somewhat by the post ice age flood is reasonably believable but not that some highly advanced technological civilisation existed.

At the time his stuff seemed fairly harmless but I think you can see its arguably helped to feed into nastier conspiracy theory culture more recently, there is plenty of feed though between woo merchants and far right conspiracy theories, I live in a fairly hippish UK town and I'v seen it first hand.

that one fat guy seems sincere. I personally find it hard to believe that we wouldn't be able to find any older civilizations if they existed. I mean, there have been million year old stuff perfectly preserved and he talks about ten thousand years being enough to wipe out all signs of civilization, i don't believe that.
