Do u guys think Glover will survive the onslaught?

Glover has a few ways to win. But Jiri might be too fast, unpredictable and lengthy.

I would give Glover a 35% chance of winning.
 
Glover has experience and could catch an overzealous Jiri . If Jiri fights smart he has the athleticism to beat Glover. Good contrasting styles . Curious if Jiri just goes no fear berserk or more technical approach

I've been so freaking wrong throughout Jans career and I also counted Glover out. On paper Jiri should beat Glover ...

He can train technique with him + by what i heard they doing 150% to help Jiri - 6 trainers on every training mastering his ground game and Jon Jones arrived yesterday, to train with Jiri.. + non stop work on standup with his team aswell.....

He was planning fast turn around after Oezdemir win, but Corey Anderson refused to sign contract and left to Bellator... Then Jiri wanted to step in when Oezdemir injured during his preparation vs Krylov, but Krylov didnt accept short notice fight vs Jiri.... Then Rakič absolutely ducked Jiri... Then UFC plannned Reyes vs Prochazka for February, but Reyes injured and fight was postponed to May and from there was Jiri in negotations for title shot...

Jiri will take Glovers lead leg and tear him apart, Jiri is too fast and strong... I also strongly believe that Jiri will survive even in worst scenario where Glover takes him down... He will rather offer his face for ground and pound than his limbs for submitions... :)
 
Maybe. I give Jiri the edge, but a grappling clinic from Glover wouldn't surprise me.

Why does everyone forget Reyes rocked Jiri and almost got him out of there??

I’ve always been a Jiri believer but he is reckless asf. If he gets wild and gets grabbed I’d be surprised if he makes it out of the round.

Ultimately though Glover is too old, Jiri may be wild, but he’ll be so fast he’s going to land brutal shots, and he’s a great finisher. I would be totally surprised if Glover can survive. But I’ll be betting a good amount of cash he won’t be able to.

Good call. Jiri is exciting but nothing about him is screaming “long time champ.” He’s gonna get stopped by someone soon IMO.
 
8 years ago I thought Glover could beat anyone in the world.
I was wrong.
Last year I thought it was cool he'd get another title shot after the talent exodus from the division but I didn't give him much of a shot.
Wrong again.

Today, fuck it.
I'll roll with Glover no matter who he faces.
Give him the Jones rematch and I'll pick Glover for the nostalgia and good vibes (and crow is not that bad).
Probably wrong again.
 
Jiri leaves himself open a fair bit standing and if Glover can hurt Jan on the feet he can hurt Jiri. This is a very tough, but winnable, fight for Glover.
 
I think Glover wins, Jiri's striking is very wild and his TDD doesn't seem good enough to stop Glover from taking him down.
 
Glover has enough experience to know he shall not stand and bang with jiri.
I expect a couple exchanges just to bait a td window.
Answering ts. I dont think glover can survive jiri obslaught standin up. And I also dont think jiri can survive if hes taken down.

Jiri is devastating. He's got crazy power as well as extremely dynamic and unconventional.

Lethal combination for anyone but especially for an 43 year old that's been in multiple battles.

Should be fun though.

Glover got his fairy tale. He got his gold, he gets his name in the record books forever, he will forever be called "champ."

In no way will he roll over, he is a fucking warrior... But he is unlikely to be able to physically endure Jiri's much much more athletic onslaught.

I literally don't think Glover can move fast enough to defend himself, and he has a glaring weakness defending uppercuts. Jiri throws erratically making him hard to be predict.
