I don’t think there’s much generalization amongst the yakuza and triad groups. Different ones will behave differently and occupy different niches. Probably worth pointing out that the triads originate from Hong Kong and its traditional sphere of influence, so there probably is some likelihood of them being involved in the export of drugs to Japan.

Triad is embedded all around the world. But in the last 10 years the Triads appear to be moving away from Asian countries other than China and looking at extending their influence in the West.
