Do Sherdog belts mean anything to you?

Do you give a shit if a poster is a white or gold belt?

Does it make much of a difference to the quality of their posts?

Personally I find those with white belts to be quite noobish (I once made a thread asking why do fighter's cut weight, lol...)

And more experienced posters (black and higher) are less likely to make stupid posts, but maybe because they're older.

early join date and low post count are the most revered.

Nah, "Likes" are all that matter. If you don't have more likes than post counts then you're subhuman faeces.

Joe rogan said it best. The worst mma fans have high post counts on sherdog.

Well I guess this is better than another Conor thread but was it worthy of a whole thread?

I'd kill you over the honor of my belt.
With memes.

It probably has more to do with forum etiquette than anything else. Someone who has a higher ranked belt is probably more aware of what is and isn't acceptable Sherdog behavior. They are probably aware that "noob" posts are frowned upon, unlike newer users. In actuality, they probably still have questions that would be considered "white belt material" but refrain from asking for fear of ridicule.

T.S., I think you have a problem.

Three days in a row I've seen threads started by you inquiring about belts in some way or another.

I get it, belts are awesome.

Although there are times--weddings, for example,--where suspenders are clearly the right move.

Nah but I tend to respect posters that have been here for years.

I've seen some guys get a black belt in sherdoggery in a month!

It means I can hang with other internet tough guys. I can defend virtual takedowns, throw virtual switch kicks, have perfect virtual head movement. I'm everything I want to be on here that I can't be in real life. WAR Internet belt rankings. The digital measure of manhood.

I want a Red Belt because it looks cool.

(I should be the last guy to say it but)
That just means you haven't got much to say, although it could mean that you just don't like Sherdoggin'.

Or it could mean you're a great poster who chooses words sparingly and with care.

I happen to have nothing worth saying and a lot of time to say it

It's totally meaningless.

Legions of black belts, pre-2005 accounts, and 10,000+ post accounts have made some of the most incredibly Shertarded posts and predictions which mimicked the stereotype they have of white belts.

It won't be hard to find a 5 plus year old account saying unironically that Conor would KO Robbie Lawler in the first round.
