I would think that poor people naturally have the mental toughness to face adversity and have more drive to succeed while rich people like BJ Penn already have it good and therefore are not that motivated enough reach their full potential.

Khabib has money and is undefeated. Bj also

I think most of the fighters were poor people, much deeper talent pool, so difficult to really compare

Didn’t Maia come from wealth or is that something that Silva exaggerated?

they probably tend to be harder workers (because they have to be). so in terms of trends, there's that.

Not if they found god. He is the cornerstone to every great athlete. God chooses a winner for each fight, and if you believe in him, you have a better chance to win. That's why he is always thanked. It's like thanking the academy after winning an oscar. A rough upbringing is for pagans.

Yep but not as hard workers. Lack of options does it. Instead of directing that work ethic to something which isn't so demanding as it is so easy to do when you have options, they usually have the choice of fighting or ganglife and so they stick to this lifestyle as the alternative is shite

genuinely not sure if serious.

scary if so.

BJ's wealth is a total myth. You people act like he was a saudi prince who could live off millions without ever lifting a finger. lol. please.

Hi Fedor, blessed to have your presence here!

Fighters (in general) resort to fighting because...it's a last fucking resort.

Would you want to put your brain cells on the line for a living...

Fuck no you wouldn't...if you had the chance to make a living without ruing your body/mind otherwise.

And yes, I know some people like to FIGHT no matter what, but those are the EXCEPTION, not the rule.

You've got it ass backwards. Rich people have all the resources at their disposal to go to top schools and not even have to work while doing it. Wealth is a significant advantage!
