Do people actually think Poirier will fight Khabib next? Pretty obvious Conor/Khabib rematch is next

I’m no way in favor of the rematch being booked first, but it’s pretty obvious that’s what will happen. Too much money involved to risk either man losing their next fight.

It’s obvious Khabib would have fought Holloway knowing he would easily rag doll him. That’s why he immediately discredited Poirier’s victory and claimed he thought the fight was a draw... when Dustin obviously won 3 to 4 rounds of 5. Dana was also pissed to see Dustin win.

Who’s left for Conor? You actually think Conor is going to sign to fight Gaejthe? High risk fight vs no name fighter. If he didn’t want to fight a name in Cowboy to earn a title shot, what makes you think he’ll choose the more durable Justin?

This is why they booked Cowboy vs Ferguson on a months notice. Dustin will end up having to defend his interim belt vs the winner of Cowboy/Ferguson. Then once they book the winner vs Dustin, all of a sudden Khabib vs Conor rumors will heat up and the rematch will be booked.

Dustin of course can refuse to fight Cowboy/Ferguson, but then he’ll just be stripped and kicked to the curb. He has no pull. I’ll bump this in a few months when Dustin learns that he has to defend his fake belt before fighting Khabib.

Depends on how much money comes in before September. If things are running short, WME will definitely throw a Conor rematch up while Dana shrugs and smacks his lips.

I think TS didn't think this until a recent Tony Robbins interview, and that he shouldn't let his his long term opinions get swayed by whatever drama-of-the-day is going on.

Would TS bet even money that Khabib fights Conor next? I doubt it.

He could be. All it would take is Conor to change his mind and decide he wants to fight soon. He seems to make that decision every year or two these days. He may choose to this summer, before Poirer, Khabib and Zuffa sign contracts. But I doubt it.
